So on the spreadsheet when I enter up, I mean prices is angling upwards regardless of what level it is at, and vice versa for going down.

Because I'm a beginner with 10.5 and there are people here with far more experience, please correct me if I'm wrong.

But I agree with you, it's not so much red bar/green bar I THINK it's more if the lines are converging or diverging what's important. so < or > if you catch my drift.
If CSS lines are diverging < with the bar being green price is going up,
if they're converging > with bar green price is going down
diverging bar red price is going down
converging bar red price is going up

Perhaps it's an idea to rewrite the indicator to try this out? Perhaps I'm simply wrong :) Please share your views

[edit] I think Baluda already made something like this in his CSS diff http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... f=45&t=629
Not advocating any rewrites, and I guess people have their own technique of interpreting the CSS information, but yes for me it is about convergence or divergence of the two lines, this gives a heads up in advance of a reversal. By the time the lines cross is the usual signal of confirmation, but personally I am expecting a reversal the moment the lines begin to move towards each other and when they are moving apart is confirmation of a strengthening move. So the CSS gives the heads up, but then I'm looking for confluence to confirm the move, that could be a RSI2 pinned, pivot cross or bounce, fib, candlestick reversal pattern, trendline bounce etc, basically the more confluence the better, not that's outside 10.X so not included here. I believe Jemook on his thread, advocates placing a trade before the cross if he can see that the lines are moving towards each other.

Hey Bob,

Thanks for all the hard work and I enjoy the system so far. I keep getting constant errors and my logs are getting out of control, maybe you or someone else that has faced this can help me. This is a sample of the error I am getting. Thanks in advance.

Edit: I ought to add how I use the CSS Info. For me, I'm not so interested in where the line is or at what level, what interests me is whether the line is moving up, moving down or is relatively flat. If price is angling upwards, even though it's below 0 I call this going Up, if price is above 0 put angling downwards then I call this going down. I d/l your Excel file, Pips400 - very user-friendly.

If I may ... the way you intend it to be used ... for bias only ... is probably its best use.
I will do further testing tomorrow during the Asian session.

But I felt I should throw into the ring my own views of using the CSS.

The way you describe using the CSS is quite an aggressive approach ... quite aggressive. I'm not sure if you realise that.

The lines can be rising for a VERY long time (or falling), without ever rising or falling, and without getting closer to the zero line, or crossing any other currency line. The AUD was a classic example of it when it was at the extremes ... for a couple of weeks it was simply right at the top ... or at the bottom. The trends were great. The strength (bias) of the lines increases proportionally to the distance away from the zero line ... distance being a relative entity.

How can this be? Because the other currencies actually "push" the entire line away from the zero line, without actually changing the direction it is "pointing." I may be wrong about that.

Can I just add my own view ... and that is ... there are 2 things about the CSS that truly make a difference - an ACTIVE difference to the speed and direction the pairs move:

1) The crossing of the zero line by any currency
2) The crossing of another currency line, by any other.

If you observe what happens when these ACTUALLY cross something, then you will be hooked on that aspect of CSS. However, I still like the idea of estimating bias. If you can find one that is long and one that is short ... according to bias ... then you should have yourself a nice trade.

Have to say I appreciate your great contributions to this forum.

Thank you.
Thats Ingot54, I think there's a lot of nuance and information that can be gleaned from this powerful indi, and from what you're sharing I'll take a deeper look. I know previously I was finding interpretation difficult and in a strong trending market the other signals were enough, but I've had a rethink, and I know this is part of Bobs daily routine, so thought I'd give it another try. The spreadsheet is basic and at least points me in the right direction, because on a couple of recent trades I got it wrong but this would have kept me out.

Cheers

Think you may be using the wrong template.

Try the one attached.

Get your indicators from 10.4 10.5 update 5.19.13.zip in page one.

That looks nothing like what it is supposed to look like, can you give me a list of what indicators should be in the template? The TMA slope seems to be what is causing the problem, what version of that should I be using?

Or possibly a screen shot of what the newest system is supposed to look like.

Open the zip file I mentioned earlier, put the indicators in Empty4/EXPERTS/indicators, and the templates in Empty4/templates folder (NOT Empty4/EXPERTS/templates)

Then apply the template on your chart.

It should look like the attached.

The 10.4/10.5 template in the templates folder is attached below.

Ok thanks buddy, I appreciate it. This has a few more lines than I saw in 10.4 i am used to seeing the ao histogram with the RSI over top of it. Is the green yellow and red just a visual representation of the ao and what are the MA in the middle? Hope this makes sense.

READ THE PDF IN PAGE ONE. AO indi is no longer used in the new template. Instead, you have the CSS or Currency slope strength in the upper indicator window.

You need to read the PDF first ( 10 4 B Manual.pdf ).
