Big news. Forex Magnates is reporting that Gain Capital is set to launch Tradable. This would give Tradable a coup in getting an international US based brokerage behind them. If you are unfamiliar with Tradable it is an Open Trading Platform.

I have to say no I have not requested an invite. The site said something like for brokers only unless I am missing something. I guess we are going to have to demo it through a broker.

You had to choose whether you were requesting an invite as a Trader/ Broker or Developer

I have requested an invite as a Trader twice, and as a Developer twice - about a month apart

Clearly i am actually a lemon - which is what some of my live accounts have shown me the last few weeks ;-)

For what it's worth I would have to place a thumb's up for AmeriTrade's thinkorswim.

I was using TOS before coming to the dark side, using Empty4, only because that's what all you guys and gals use. It is a fantastic platform and I know they have a coding language that seemed to be used a lot, when I was over there. You can download the demo platform here:

They make true upgrades practically every month.

I used TOS several years ago and I was heavily underwhelmed. I thought it was Byzantine and incredibly complex. The coding language was very strange and VERY limited. Maybe it's been dramatically improved since then, but...

I found by chance that you can keep Empty4 from updating by RENAMING terminal.exe to, say, terminal1.exe. This worked with version 482, don't know about 500. All my EA's and indicators work as usual.

If you do this, then also rename terminal.chm to terminal1.chm, otherwise the Help does not work.
If you want to update, just rename to original again.

(Found out because I needed 6 terminal.exe's with a different name on a VPS.)

From August 1st 2013, Empty4 Client terminals older than build 500 will no longer be supported and the message “Old Version” will appear with the platform not connecting to the trading servers.

You can Google the link by searching for this: Empty4 old builds will not be able to connect to trade server. as the link I posted above has the name "Bully" and a space, meaning it will not connect.

unfortunately this is not only at Bully Pepperstone, it's with every broker. enforced update from metaquotes... :/
