What a great thread. Love the system. Thank you Tommaso for making the EA. It is very much appreciated. :hi: Looking at ForexDans demo results after using EA for 1 years is great. http://www.myfxbook.com/members/xxxxdan/3little/1011373 57.46% in 1 year is fantastic! Looking at the results, if you removed AUDUSD the gains would of been much higher!  I'm just getting to grips with the world of Empty4 and EA's I'm so thankful I found this forum. It was googling the 3 little pig trading system after reading about it at Forex Useful that brought me here. Is anyone running this EA live? Or is your preference to trade the system manually? I would love to hear your experiences and thoughts? Cheers, Marcus |

Cheers for the reply Gscheppink.  Do you adjust the allowed spread settings in EA? I've started using a spreadbetting Empty4 demo account from alpari a few days ago (i'm in the UK) and the spreads vary a lot. Not sure my demo account will last long as Alpari got hit bad thanks to the Swiss National Bank http://www.alpari.com/company-news/post ... ouncement/  I had to change the allowed spread settings to 3.5 to get good coverage. I need to sort out a VPS though as I'm running Empty4 on my laptop at the moment. What currency pairs are you running EA on? I think I recall from ebook that you should not be exposed to more than 5 markets using 3 little pigs system. Yes the EURGBP trade looked good, not sure why it didn't get that? It will be interesting to see how the 3 little pigs EA reacts to volatility caused by the Swiss Franc. I'm really surprised this thread had been quiet for a while. The system seems good to me. How long you planning on running the demo for gscheppink? Marcus |

The EA uses an old shell from me ( and has some minor glitches still inside), in all newer EA's I coded the allowed spread to be calculated automatic, using the average spread. If there will be here again more interest for the strategy I am open to rewrite the code to my latest standarts and too to full new build compatibility.. Cheers Tommaso |

I left it at the 2.5 spread. Using Oanda here in Canada. I'm running it on a laptop as well - also thought about the VPS route. Wouldn't be doing that till I have it on a live account and can justify the expense though. I'm running it on the pairs recommended in the 3 Little pigs eBook. Had a look through the code this aft, and it appears that that is somewhat hard coded in the EA as well. As long as the EA follows the rules - it should react the same to volatility as manual trading would..... |

Also had a trade earlier in the week - AUDUSD short that shouldn't have been triggered as per the rules of the system. |

Tommaso, that would be fantastic and very much appreciated. You've got me excited now!  I hope people reading this thread will take the time and express their interest here to make this a reality as I strongly feel this system shows real promise and as we have seen from ForexDans demo account it delivers results: http://www.myfxbook.com/members/xxxxdan/3little/1011373 Tommaso if you create new EA I will be more than happy to create a demo account and make it available on myfxbook and share the results here. Although technically results should be similar if not the same as old EA right? It will be interesting to see if there is any variation in results with the new shell. Either way I'm more than happy to take part in the experiment.  Hey gscheppink, thanks for answering my questions mate. I had a look at the ebook and apart from mentioning: Never risk more than 2% on any one trade Never trade more than 5 markets at any one time I couldn't find any suggestions on what pairs to trade. Just for transparency could you share the pairs recommended please? Although fundamentally in practice the system should be applicable to any market, but as identified earlier in this thread a larger trailing stop-loss maybe required for certain pairs to be effective. Maybe my version of the ebook is older. I don't want to share the pdf here for copyright reasons. I'm assuming your referring to the forexuseful.com ebook right? My 3 little pigs footprint was learning of the system and indicator @ forexuseful. I saw it won babypips.com Trading System Of The Month. I read a thread dedicated to system at babypips. I then wanted to see if someone had developed an EA of the indicator which brought me here. I have found users experiences and posts in this thread to be very useful. gscheppink will you join me and express your interest to Tommaso to update EA? As for VPS service, a lot of brokers in the UK offer free VPS service if you fulfill their balance requirements. However the low spec of free VPS offered varies from 512gb to 1gb ram and 1 core processor which causes me some concern especially as I want to run 2 instances of Empty4. 1 for signals and 1 for EA.
