5500 pips already banked and a nice 4000 floating green pips.. not to bad for under 3 weeks of trading... its over 400 pips a day if you close out now...

Yes - I am seriously impressed so far. There is no doubt in my mind that it benefits from a bit of manual oversight sometimes and I want to run it for a few months before getting too excited BUT once it gets in to the green it just keeps racking the pips up!!! The real measure of a system (manual or automated) in my opinion is gain Vs drawdown - I am not interested in something that racks up huge drawdown and big gains. More risk averse I guess! Thanks again for sharing! |

Doc You probably know all of this but hopefully the missing piece in in there somewhere.  - GlobalPrime is ECN no idea if Cowboy Go Markets is now but it didn't used to be. The only difference is that ECN brokers do not allow you to send the SL and TP values with the actual order - they must be sent as modifications to the order after the order is processed. In the real world a SL and TP is effectively an order in the opposite direction - i.e. you buy one lot of EURUSD if it hits TP a SELL order of 1 lot is processed. As this is the case it should be clear that the only way to process an order + TP + SL in one go is if they are not actually processing the order at all (i.e. it probably never gets to the market). Jem could expand or clarify this no doubt. Within Steve's shell code for all EA's it checks if GlobalPrime is the broker - if it is then it automatically sets ECN to true. However the default for the parameter "IsGlobalPrimeOrECNCriminal" is FALSE. So if you use GlobalPrime it doesn't matter what you put in here as the code checks later. However if you leave it as FALSE for another ECN broker then there could be some weird happeings with SL/TP - probably just don't get set. I don't think this has anything to do with the differences you are seeing. I was busy writing this post then realised my theory was wrong when I looked up Cowboy Go Markets end of day and it appears to be the same as GP. However I think I figured it out - I think most of your trades in the first screen shot (I assume the labels are the wrong way round Global Prime Vs Cowboy Go Markets) - those marked "MainTrade" are not PipCruiser EA trades. The default for comments for PiPCruiser is blank - like the last few in that screenshot @ 0.01 lots. The previous ones may well be Shelley's Trading Fiend or some other EA? Is that possible? Quite a bit of the gain is protected so I will leave it. NFP always makes me a but nervous but because the EA is effectively just going with the long term trend we would need something dramatic to reverse everything.....famous last words  Thanks - you too - have a good one. Cheers, Dave. |

Dave, thanks very much for your quick reply! :hi: AHA!! There's the answer! For some unknown reason - probably my inexperience - I thought that the opposite was the case. Which would explain some of the weird error message I have been getting from EAs being tested on OEM broker platforms - that my 'scorn & derision' meter has prevented me from questioning.  Dave, my first account ever was with GOM because I was told that they were local (Australian) and were an ECN broker (the best sort of broker to have). Entirely! My post was at the end of a 12 hour day... when I usually have to get led by the hand and spoken to in words of 1 syllable because I am 2 steps off braindead. Apologies! Thanks again, mate. @pipcruiser Do you manually handle your trades ( close them at some point and bank your profits) or you let them run?. Is there a point where you decide to close them and start again? Matt |

Yes! I suspect it isn't most people's cup of tea as it requires patience and, I believe, benefits from some manual intervention occasionally. But it looks good so far. Also I guess to test it properly you need a few months so you won't get updates multiple times a day to the thread like Secret Bob etc |
