Post subject:  HGI for beginners.
This may seem like a noob question but without an answer to this I find it impossible to proceed. Kindly give me the directions on how to set up the HGI on my Empty4 platform or at least give me a url/ thread that explains this. I have read the pdf time and again and I cannot seem to find it. Thanks to Bob, Milanese, Elixe, Baluda et. al

I have HGI Matrix working with HGI version 14.02 and getting frequent alerts. Some of these are for trades when 240MA condition is not met - is there any way I can turn the filter in the HGI indicator on to filter out alerts from the Matrix when the 240MA condition is not satisfied?

with the HGI Matrix you shoul ask René, the indicator has an option for this, MA240Filter,, disable the alerts on the HGI Matrix if you do not want them or try the HGI Matrix with 15.04..

Thanks - I have loaded the HGI Indicator with the MA240 Filter to true loaded on the same chart with the HGI Matrix and will see if that works. I very much want all the other alerts from the Matrix and it is really no great deal to check once the alert fires - I just know myself too well that I will forget to check properly!

By chance, when I loaded the Indicator, because I had the candles blanked it just showed the signals - very dramatic and clear! I am glad the HGI team are keeping the Indicator pure and starting other forums if people want to add lots of bells and whistles.

Just a note :
The 240filter is disabled when using iCustom so HGI sends all its signals, It's up to the embedding indicator or EA to filter out on their side.

HGI indicator looks great. However I have a bad habit of starting to test lots of strategies and not finishing any so I am resisting the temptation to start on this one.

Am I making a mistake? Are any newbies doing well on it.

I have read the user guide and placed a few demo accounts but I can clearly see I need to do more work to figures out where to place stop losses etc. There was a signal on AUDUSD where I lost because my stop loss was too tight.

I might give the EA version a little try.

Yes Shona, of course you are. Are you one of those dimwits who steadfastly refuse to read anything I write under any circumstances? You have company, but take no comfort from that; it is still idiotic.

Use your brains, just for once Shona. Ditch the rest of the crap and concentrate on HGI. Only an idiot passes up the opportunities this affords.

Open the script in Metaeditor. The chart names all have a suffix added to them (lines 9 & 10). If your charts show names as EURUSD then you will need to remove the suffix. If you have a different suffix you will need to change it to agree with your broker.

You have convinced me. I will spend some time on HGI now. I only have about 4 different strategies on the go, none of which are working properly yet, what's one more? Let's hope this one gets me some pips!
