I had a big miss again on a sell TrendWave not closing on opposite wave. Trade should have been closed by the Yellow or Blue wave. Yesterday I had similar closure failure on Rad multi sell. Has anybody else the same problem? Either the signal was missed by BoHGB2s or there is an error in the code. |

I also have a proposal for a potential future improvement. As I think profitability of strategies is mostly determined by exits I have been studying my exits over the past weeks. I have been running lower TF charts next to the trading chart TF. Would it be possible to make the exit signal TF selectable? From what I can see, using exit signals one TF lower would give you MUCH better exits. In almost all cases it will keep you in the trade much longer/better than using stop losses. Please have a look for yourself in your trades. In the logic you would also need a check that the trade will not be opened if there is a contradictory signal on the lower TF. Otherwise in some cases (which in most cases would end up being bad entries anyway), a trade would immediately be closed as the LowerTF is indicating a change of the higher TF direction. As example see next pic which in one TF lower than the pic in the previous post. In most cases I saw a clustering of such signals in the lower time frame in the bottom or top of the move. |

i wouldn't go changing settings once the EA is loaded. it will definitely cause problems. i think i read in the HGB forum that you need to disable autotrading, remove the expert and then re-load the expert if you want to change any settings without breaking it. you should definitely not be changing any settings or timeframe while its running! |

Yep, tonight I again proved for myself this gave problems. Several of the instances where I changed TF or settings differed from the controls where I applied HGB freshly to the chart. Frustratingly again I could not determine which action caused the HGB to derail... it just appears to be random. I did this testing on purpose to find if, next to problems with TradingTimes, this issue might be an explanation of missed trades or differences between instances I had in the past. In the past I e.g.would look at different TF's to check something, or changed a setting like SL and just continued the existing HGB instance. I'll never do that again. I always thought NinjaTrader was crap and unstable, but MT is 'crap and unstable squared' BTW I only yesterday found a post of Steve http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... ?f=5&t=597 where he warned against using F7. For Empty4 old timers the above might be well-known. But it might be worthwhile to ask people with different results if they are aware of the issues above. For me the subject is now closed. - NEVER change a TF and continue. Always remove the EA and re-apply. - NEVER use F7 to change a setting and continue. Always remove the EA and re-apply the EA with new setting. BTW Sorry to clutter your thread. If you have the privileges please feel free to (re)move them. Back to more fun such as better BoHGBs. |

Hi Guys, Great Activity hear, I was travelling last couple days, so had no time to check in. You might want to check out the DetectStoploss multiplier settings. Could cause missing opportunitys. This is one of the settings I've changed ootb. Steve has this setting to 10. Some other EA builders over here use a (in comparison) very low value of 1.5 :!: I had set it to 5. Somewhere in the big HGB thread.. Steve posted about orders getting filled when there was high spread. So that's the reason I changed it. Also from my own oservations a 10 value is very high.. Just set this to your own liking. Before posting more about missing trades... Make sure you got your info correct.. The EA is'nt supposed to take Trend trades in a Range period. So this will take a lot of "missed" trades out of the table. From the screenshots which has been posted to me by pm or in this tread. By not taking these trades, the EA is doing exactly what it needs to do. (Only trading when TMAStatus="TMA range end" is on the screen) Right now we are also comparing a DLL to a Indicator. The coding of the HGI between these 2 might be slightly different. I am watching one of my tests pretty close. It fired up a wave trade.. I have the HGI 15.06 indi on my charts, the wave trade was visible. A couple of candles later, there was a opposite wavy.. The EA exits the trade. I did not reload the chart... minimized the RDP window, did some work on desktop. Opened the VPS again.. and boom... Both the opening and closing wavy was gone. And other signals on the chart.. (which represent the move of the pair better.) So, better to say the EA is missing trades, when you are actually looking at the current candle. See a signal, confirm that it's picked up by the EA (yellow texts) wait HGI read dealy seconds.. and then when it's not opening a trade. We can conclude there's something wrong with the code Further on, I will look into some stuff posted here. Couple of things are shell stuff... The EA is basically a multi strategy EA, using a single strategy shell.. Not sure what to do.. as I've already rewritten, changed a lot of stuff.. But the other shell I'm working on is still not finished. On the other hand, paying attention to some code, to iron some stuff out, which will be abadoned is also waste of time... And I'm in lack of time already |

Great stuff, some of the functions are'nt working like expected.. So this is a bug.. will look into this.. and post an update.. So it is doing exactly what it needs to. A single trade is triggered. Open up the multitrades. For the next same trade type it sees there are more opened then the max trades. (cause of the 1 single + multiple) It wont open the trades.. So yes as strange as it might seem.. The max overalltrades name might be a bit misleading. This is the same in Steves version. |

" - Running M15/H1 or H4 timeframes, but attached to M5 for precision (based on testing this should be irrelevant as attaching 2r to either M5 or M15 for trading on the M15 has yielded me the exact same entries, to the minute) - Trend,Rad,Wavy, TrendWavy trades only - all closures on opposite set to FALSE - Everytick ON - Max Trades of 6 per type, as to allow multiple entries at any given moment and collect more data - Min dist between each type of trades: 6 The only differences between this demos will be the following: SP and TP (or JS) 6670 HGIG - M15 - 40 SL - BEJS 25+2 6674 HGIG - H1 - 40 SL - BEJS 25+2 6682 HGIG - M15 - 60 SL - BEJS 35+2 6686 HGIG - H1 - 60 SL - BEJS 35+2 7204 HGIG - H4 - 55SL-25TP 7208 HGIG - H1 - 45SL-35TP 7212 HGIG - M15 - 45SL-35TP 7216 HGIG - H4 - 45SL-35TP 7220 HGIG - M15 - 55SL-25TP 7224 HGIG - M15 - 40SL-20TP 7228 HGIG - H1 - 55SL-25TP " hopefully u can share set files with us here ..... |

Actually, my problem is the opposite..... I still haven't found a stable version that doesn't send multiple entries at the same price or 20pips apart. I need a version that; - enters 1 trade on a trendarrow - enters 1 trade on a trendstart wave - enters 1 pending on the level of the RAD Arrow [could do this myself, so not really necessary] - close all on a rangestart wave I'm trading HGB-mod on the D1, and HGI manually [D1] on another demo. Results are great, but I can't trust the EA and manually I sometimes enter too late. Attached 2 screens from both demo's started after the CHF massacre. HGB-mod HGI manually The other difference is the trade management. - On the HGB-mod I have set SL=100 and that's it, just wait for yellow wavies. - On the HGI-manually I have set SL=100, BE+50@100, JS50 [like on PPM] I would love to try a EA-version that enters like I mentioned, set BE@something and let it run. |

version 2t attached in post 1. Made this change quickly.. Only thing that has changed is the order management. Breakeven, jumpingstop, candlestick. jump.. If you don't use it, or use mptm you don't need this update.. Gertje, I will look into it.. to create a version doing what you described. The multiple trades could easily be desiabled. So only special function is to close on rangestart.. The current mod1 is doing the opposite.. closing on Range end wave.. Im extremly busy.. could take a while |
