For those who are interested in Zennor's 4H strategy, he has made a separate thread - the link is below. Whereas running this EA with different TF settings is not necessarily a specific PPoS improvement. I for one, will be following along in his 4H endeavours. http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =91&t=4181 If you have your own specific ideas or requests about improvements that could be useful for the original bot, please post them here. Alternatively please create your own thread and feel free to post a link here to keep everyone in the loop. Do remember, that our ideas may or may not be developed, so don't expect it to happen, however there is no harm in discussing them. |

Re: the last post, if you do decide to follow the 4H with Zennor, check which version of PPoS you have See the Help thread at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =91&t=4089 As it was not taking the Long Pending trades, only the Main trade Just a couple of "//" left in the code at Line 1990 |

Hi all I am running M1,W1,D1 and imagine some amendments, some of which have been already expressed by other members. 1.1 a month are the last 20 trading days 1.2 a week are the last 5 trading days 1.3 a day is the last trading day 2.a the Multitrade entry is a Multiplier or fraction of ATR (=Y) or alternatively a fix 20 Pips distance 2.b the Multitrade exit is a Multiplier of ATR (e.g =1.5 x Y) or alternatively 30 Pips or identical with the MainTradeTakeProfitPips 3.a The EA does not take a trade if ATR goes below some predefined value. Thanks to all, who work on this thing, it's really a pleasure to look at the results so far. Mike |

Mike, Are you saying this is how the EA / indicator reads the data now or is it your suggestion for how it should read the data? Because to me, a month is only the last 20 trading days once in awhile e.g. March 2, 2015 for February Other times it will be the number of trading days in the last Calendar month Now that could be up to 4 full weeks prior to current trading day, hardly the last 20 days Don't take this the wrong way, I'm only trying to understand the reasoning of the screening criteria here Thanks, John |

Hi John, As it is now and based on the original strategy, it looks back a last calender month (February). 1. of April it will take March as reference month and so forth. Same goes for weeks etc. Personally I don't think there is a big difference in the long run. PC |

Thanks for clarification Mr Pipcruiser, It is how I thought, previous calendar month and previous week. I guess you are probably right, in the long run it evens out Initially I thought we were missing out on EUR-JPY shorts all during March because of February month was up But this method certainly keeps us in for the long trends Have a great week and many pips to all |

Yes, sometimes we will "miss out" on some good trades, sometimes we will miss out on some bad trades You can also look at PP as a "patience tool", as its a very conservative strategy which only wants to place trades into a long confirmed trend for keeping the odds on your side. Patience - or lack hereof, has been my worst enemy in trading and hence PP got created to help fight this problem, which I am sure is why most traders loose in the long run, because they tend to be "trigger happy". @john and ... 1.1 etc are a change I would like to be able to test and I imagine it would make quite some difference in trend-turning markets 2.1 etc. could open the EA to a more adaptive MultiTrade management 3.a could avoid entering ranging markets, well that's what I just guess. Mike |

| Post subject: | AUDNZD |
Hey guys, I was looking at the summaries from several PP and PPoS MFXB accounts and I noticed that AUDNZD isn't profitable at all, like in my own demo so I banned it and I'm not missing it. My opinion is that it's because of correlation and low volatility. If that's the case, what do you think about banning EURCHF also? Do you have any other reasons for it and do you think it could get positive in the next few months? Cheers |

Hi Patrick, Yes I have been getting the same with AUDNZD too. If you are too worried about this you should be using 10.7 CSS to get an idea about relative currency strengths. Personally I do not like to ignore a currency just because of a loosing streak. If your position sizing is correct that shouldn't cause any problem, as long as the basket is making a profit. In EAs I prefer to trade as many currencies as possible to normalise my position. In fact as an option, I would like to see normalised position sizing in PPoS. |
