... just to say that I am using a non hedged setup on 21pairs on a cheap VPS and it hasn't crashed once. Perhaps take any/all indicators off your charts and try again? and if still a problem re install Empty4

Thanks TJF for your feedback. I run Hedged set up for last 2 days and all is OK. Will try next week Non Hedged one.

We will all need stuff to play with after Christmas, so I have coded new toy HGB 'n BAS.

BAS was a speculative bit of fun; he has generated some pips on demo for me this week. I will put HGB 'n BAS up in time for next week.

Hi Steve,

Is it possible to have the CloseOnOppositeSignal - true/false option in the ea like the one that is available on the regular HGB? Right now it closes all trades which are in opposite direction when a new HGI signal appears.

Sorry guys, been away for a while. Had to change my work location to something close to home. Anyway, after seeing Steve's PM and talking to TraderJoe via PM. We think what TraderJoe proposed and has worked on hir own personal ea is a good option to get the grid to be dynamically created for different pairs with their own personality that changes from day to day and week to week. :smile:

Average True Range or ATR for those who are familiar is an volatility indicator which I think will defiantly help HGBnG figure out how to space out the grid if one choses not to do it manually. It will also take out some of the guess work.

There is one other option that is proposed by traderJoe which is good if you know how much money to bank per pair for your timeframe(s) or as a basket.

Steve please take a look at the following quote from Joe, let us know your thoughts and if you feel this will benefit the EA. You may add it, you've the final say.

the way I look at it I can't think of anything better than just adding ATR, ATR timeframe and ATR period as an option for grid size, SL and TP which would give plenty of scope for dynamically matching grid size to the pair and timeframe being traded.

The only other additional option that would go nicely with this would be a trade as basket option to close all open trades and delete any pendings once #%profit or #%loss from open trades on this pair.

I am also wondering whether it would be simpler to have one HGBnG that has the hedging option only and one that has Stop and Limit only if that would help make the code for both slightly more efficient. We can leave this one for Steve anyway.

Demo results so far for the hedged version:

The profit was double the current gain at one stage, but I was trading too many pairs with them all hedged to glory and back and could not see the wood for the trees. I closed an entire position at a stomping loss so I could cut down to the majors + GJ.

Open at he moment are hedged UC and EU. GU has three open trades at +88 pips - I would have closed them on Thursday night had I noticed. Overall, -162 pips dd.

The good news is that a pair hedged 3-2 will close out at a profit given a decent move in the direction of the 3.

By comparison, the stop and limit demo:

I confess to hoping this method proves the most profitable over time. I loathe messy positions where I am waiting for a 3-2 hedged position to move in favour of the 3. This can take days or even weeks, with swap mounting all the time. We shall see.

Great start for this bot, so kudos again to cy for persuading me to code it. :clap:

I shall start looking at the ATR thingy tomorrow.

Hi,
I run HGBnG since this week. I had switched completly from HGB to HGBnG and it made net ~500pips on 19 pairs this week. I run without TP and higher SL and manage open position with milanese APTM with basket closure all position either on pair or all if reach target. However, I closed all of them on Thursday manually with nice profit. So far looks very promising.

I would still recommend if possible to add buy/sell stop position above every trade is trigered in opposite direction to lower the gap in a way back to recovery.
