I suggest you test out the code first before doing any amendment. I am pretty sure that Jjgengis expect you to.
Also 20pips=0.002 not 0.0002.

I am sorry I haven't a clue how one is supposed to test a code. This is exactly what I meant when I posted earlier that I do not have the requisite coding knowledge to run a thread. If you feel you do not have the time to assist with dealing with all the coding issues, I will understand if you wish to back out. And any coding amendments will have to wait.

Or perhaps you may like to take over the running of this thread. I am sure with your keen interest in this ea and your expertise, you will do a fantastic job. Or any offer to take up this challenge from anyone else for that matter.

As for me, forex is only a part-time hobby for me. I am mainly into trading UK equities and stock indices also part-time. It will be a rather long time before I can stand on my own two feet as far as mql issues are concerned. It is not for want of trying I can assure you.

Hi Steve

Perhaps, I should say what is at the back of my mind all this time. I feel very uncomfortable running a thread without even the minimum basic knowledge of mql.

I will do this thread an injustice if I continue, perhaps someone else would like to take over (in which case he/she will start a new thread in this section) or move it back to the Dummies section if there is no offer from anyone else.

Chill. Test out the code means patch it in your system first and let it run for a few days to make sure that it works for a few days before uploading to the forum.

While I have interest in this EA, the EA needs to at least start some trades before I add or do anything to it. At the moment, it's just look and wait for me.

Hi Dennis4x

Thanks for your help and advice. I feel totally uncomfortable to have someone baby-sit me all the time with regard to coding issues, and besides, I do not have the inclination nor the desire to run a thread. I am not used to not being in control of a situation like right now.

As I mentioned in one of my previous threads, that was not my intention when I initially posted in the Dummies section.

what I meant was that 20 points in 5 digits are 0.0002 . So. for remove any doubt about this I wrote this code:

but , the core of my thought to avoid stoplevelerror is this:

      if ( stoplevelprice < stop) stop = stoplevelprice;
if the high or low of the bar is not enough far to stoplevel criminal's, I Adjust it with data from criminal (MarketInfo(Symbol(),MODE_STOPLEVEL) where I add an arbitrary margin (AvoidStopLevel) of 2 pips. Thus i'm pretty sure that if the price change during ea's compute, those two pips allow the EA to fill the pending order.

What do you think about this?

I know that backtesting using Empty4 is completely unreliable as the spread differs during different time of the day and during different market conditons. I have done it to see if the ea will trade or not. DIBS EA MOD failed to trade whereas the orignal DIBS EA download from FF June 2011 does send trades.

I tried to backtest from 1-1-2011 to 30-12-2011, using ticks data from Dukasccopy; for some reason, the test stops at 22-6-2011. Results attached below.

I think it is premature to abandon the original Dibs ea. I set up a demo on H1 TF with lot size 1 and forexkiwi 400, thinking that it was going to trade rather infrequently.

However, this morning the ea sends seven trades, all winners, bagging over 300 pips. The forexkiwi failed to kick in when the margin fell below 400. I have since reduced the lot size to 0.2.

Now that I'd looked at the code, I think it's brilliant. It's in the "Why didn't I think of that before category". :)
The only question I have now is: Have you tested the code in DIBS to ensure that it works, ie no bugs?.
