Good day for everyone involved in testing and improving the idea, presented by TJF. Thank you for every your contribution here! :hi:

I am following this thread from its very beginning, but I cannot remember and cannot find here the idea what I would like to sound.

Please, do not judge strictly, if I am missing something, :oops: but I would like to hear your opinion on following. :youknow:

What if we could use HGBnG and RnR combo in following way:
- range-start (yellow) wavies signal launches RnR;
- range-end (blue) wavies signal:
= tells RnR to stop opening new trades in the direction, opposite to the direction of blue wavies;
= HGBnG does it's usual thing - sends a grid of, for example, limit orders (which I prefer) in the direction of blue wavies signal;
- hedging/offsetting does its magic tricks with the trades, opened before blue wavies.

While trend continues, HGBnG does it's magnificent job. When the trend ends, as I understand, we face two situations - range-start (yellow) wavies signal or opposite trend arrow signal. If I am not deeply mistaken, blue wavies occur only after yellow wavies.

1. Yellow wavies signal starts described above process;
2. Opposite trend arrow signal - HGBnG manages already opened trades/pendings with its well-known options (I prefer to close them in positive pips).

The main idea is to use HGI’s range-start and range-end signals as triggers for RnR to do its job, and trend signals as triggers for HGBnG to “clean up the table” and make pips when the market trends.

Dear fellow members of SHF, please provide your opinion on mentioned above and, again, please do not judge strictly. :oops:

Best regards,
Denis

May I ask how have you achieved the awesome reslts in your live account over the laxt couple of days?
Is it also with the Gridmaster (HGBnB + RnR) approach?

Watching this with great interest!!

Diego
Hi Diego, it's a different grid strategy that I am trading manually with higher leverage and without indicators but it is related to the approach covered in this thread.

Thanks for your interest :)

Hi Denis, I hear what you are saying however what you are describing is not so different to what we now have setup with GridMaster (RnR + HGBnG).

You can probably test what you have described by setting up two charts .. one for RnR and one for HGBnG both on the SAME magic number but only one enabled for trading at a time. Try it. See how they work together in picking up each other's trades and report back if you have profitable results. You won't attract the attention from any master coders here at SHF without proof of positive results for your idea so start with that and you will learn new things from testing that will help your own trading.

There are many different ways to setup RnR and HGBnG. The way I have suggested it what I feel is best but that doesn't mean it is. Do play around and see if you can come up with something better. It's a fun game :lol:

Thank you for your answer, TraderJoeForex! It is great to know your opinion! :clap:

I remeber one of golden rules here - "try your words/ideas in action, then present it to the public", but I just wanted to know, am I moving in the same direction as brilliant minds here...

From my tests last week I suspended GridMaster (HGBnG) + RnR in favor of GridMaster (HGBnG + RnR) as this is the stronger combination so will keep this running. Equity gain a little under three times max drawdown last week was a great start.

I have a new test using 'PipHunter and everything else' as a trend breakout EA alongside RnR and with Gridmaster offsetting both. I will post the set files and setup here this week once I've ironed a few things out.

This may be a stronger combination for smaller accounts as the grids and hedging between both EA's can be more precisely correlated as there are no indicator's involved. Just price action for both.

:jump:
GridMaster (HGBnG + RnR) finished another positive week. Next week I will increase the lotsize on this demo. I now feel 0.05 for HGBnG and 0.01 per 5000 should still be very comfortable rather than per 15000. With GridMaster overseeing the whole, drawdown is kept very tight. This was the initial result I was seeking so I am very pleased with this.

Testing PipHunter as an alternative Trend EA this week brought me back to Greedy Wotsit. I realized that the way I was trying to make PipHunter trade with the grid options was similar to Greedy Wotsit the only difference being where the initial grid is placed.

I have settled on M15 Greedy Wotsit in parallel with RnR. Again the aim here is two EA's that build a grid in opposite ways to hedge each while trading. I have had a demo running last 3 days and results are positive. I wish to test this combo both with and without GridMaster and that is my plan this week. I will then add the stronger combo to post 1.

Hi there

here is live trading the strategy from post 1 - after 24 H - GP.

Settings are the original conservative ones (0.01/0.05)

So far DD more than 5 times banked profits.

Lets see what the next days brings.

EDIT: Added screenshot a few hours later... 22 longs and 5 shorts, all RnR..

Just remember It's not uncommon to see a bias of 50 - 100 trades one sided with RnR. This is why the recommended lotsize for HGBnG is 5 x RnR.

For some reason you were missing the grid positions on the HGBnG short signal which would have made all the difference. Gain for me so far today is a little more than 2 x drawdown and the retrace is yet to come. RnR needs a retrace to bank it's pips so this was from HGBnG.
