Woke up this morning in Hong Kong and my demo account was almost doubled. the GBP swing contributed to this huge gain. I started this demo only yesterday !!!! :yahoo: :clap: :clap: :clap:

Hi Guys,

Yes also caught some of the move in Asia not as good as Kwchau :smile: Well done !!

Nevertheless I am happy with my results, steady perfomance leaving me with a steady 300 pips plus per day.

I did close all my trades out before Nfp including my weekly and monthly trades...never know with these events..could go either way, The month is young however and I will have to build a good cushion to leave longer term trades open before a news event. Will fire the dashboards off again next week.

Here is an update of the CSS DB EA :

New options:
As suggested in the thread, here is a CSS DB EA update with various options to close individual trades:

CSS cross in other direction:
Individual trades will be closed when one of the CSS timeframe will cross in the other direction.
For example, if you have a buy trade on EURUSD, and Short Term button is on, if the CSS value cross below the value in the edit box value the trade will be closed.
I have included an edit box to be able to play with the CSS value. 0 might generate to many closures when price is ranging. Default value is set +/- 0.15. Testing will tell what could be the best value.
Additional note, when the 3 timeframes buttons are on, the trades will be closed as soon as one of the timeframes cross below the edit box value (no combination). Let’s test this first to see if the options are working as intended, and as suggested by Jem, we might tweak it to be a 2 or 3 timeframes cross back confirmation.

CSS delta in other direction:
Individual trades will be closed when one of the CSS delta is > or < at the value in the edit box.
For example, if you have a buy trade on EURUSD, and Short Term delta button is on, if the CSS value if < at the value in the edit box value the trade will be closed.
Default value is set +/- 1. Testing will tell what could be the best value.
I have no visibility about this option and what could be the best value.
Additional note, when the 3 timeframes buttons are on, the trades will be closed as soon as one of the timeframes value is > or < at the edit box value (no combination).
I have included this option as some guys are discussing it, but please note that this option is set on false by default in the EA settings. You have to turn it on to see the CSS delta values and buttons.
If you’re wondering why some trades are not open, when this latest delta option is on, the EA is checking that exit condition are ok before to open new trades to avoid having trades opened and close immediately?

Additional note to avoid receiving too many PMs:

Hibernation:
If off: trades are open and managed
If on: no new trades are open but open trades are still managed

Logs:
Considering the various combinations, if you want to analyse closed trades and understand the reason for trades closure, the EA actions are logged into a txt file that you can file into:
Your Empty4 installation folder / MQL4 / Files / !-GiG-Logs-EA
Please note that when EA is on the file is not accessible.

I have finished to code those options when market was almost closed, and so I didn’t had time to test all combinations. EA is supposed to work as intended but testing is needed to be sure that everything is ok.

Other considerations:

Basket // Individual trades:
The initial purpose of this CSS DB EA was to trades basket of trades and to close all trades at specific equity %. Now that the EA have options to close individual trades, it might create some distortions, it won’t be any more basket trading.

If your basket has a negative floating % because of a specific trade and that this trade is closed with one of the individual trades options, now your basket floating % might jump in positive territory and close the basket later with one of the % equity closure option. But at the end, your initial goal of x % equity won’t be reached because of the individual trades closure options.

In order to avoid such issues, instead of closing individual trades with individual trades closure options, an idea might be to freeze this trade instead of closing it by hedging this specific trade. It would cost the spread on this new hedged trade, but it won’t create any distortion in the basket.

It is just a preliminary idea, any inputs are welcome.

If we keep the CSS DB EA as a pure auto EA, there is nothing we can do about those issues. A filter to avoid having too much exposure on a specific currency wouldn’t help to close the entire basket in profit. Such a filter would for example open a first trade on AUDCAD but then filter the trades on GBPAUD which might have been the one pair which would have help to close the basket in profit.

One solution would be to add some buttons for each pair to allow trades on this pair, but the EA wouldn’t as much auto as it is at the moment.

So far I didn’t have much time to test the EA, so a huge thanks to you guys who are sharing your ideas and results. I still have a lot of work to do to finish to recode the main tool that I am using for manual trading. After that the fun will begin for me :-)
