If used on the trading TF you would be entering reversals/pullbacks/and ranging swings from an end of the previous trend move. (but of course, you would not know which).

I am going to assume Thomas, you will see these comments here and consider putting this Baluda SS variant on that priority list. Thanks again Leon awesome trading mate. The problem you have here is that TDesk is all about allowing users to apply the existing indicators to explore an idea they have had using them, to see if it works.

You are effectively asking Thomas to turn SS into a mini-EA just on the basis of your ideas.

Thingy is, what does he do when the next hot idea for adapting SS comes along? Then the next? And the next?

I am not saying that he will not consider this. I am just pointing out that there is a problem.

Maybe a good time for you all to start learning to code CrapQl4?

I could easily code that (as well as any other half-baked coder could), but I see a huge problem in the basic idea. Take a look at what TDesk really is. Solo Signals enter trades when (n) of (m) indicators point in the same direction. Multi Signals are totally based on strength/weakness of currencies. It should be obvious that this is the absolute trend following system. Leon had brilliant results with his idea of waiting until all indicators line up in one direction. Now you want to add an indicator that signals a direction although it is as deep as possible in the opposite terrain. Do you really think that makes sense? If we are heavily on one side and that modified indi would signal a reversal, I bet all other indis would stand aginst it. It would take quite some time for all other indicators to switch over and at this point your SS slope will have crossed over also. So what would we win? Don't argue with this week's results. It was a sideways/range week and at least my TDesk made some (small) losses. But I know what it can make when things start to move... Convince me if you can. I am open to arguments. Cheers Thomas

Hey guys thanks for responding.............................. I get your points totally and I will work really hard not to bring half baked ideas to the forum, especially at a time when you are both working so hard. BUT in my defence on this one, I think Leon's chart and his use of Baluda SS shows that the change of slope of Baluda SS has significance, in Leon's manual system he essentially stops entering in a move when this condition arises on his higher TF along with other conditions. I have done this as well and all I am saying is that I think this has really good potential as an exit indicator. We don't current use Baluda SS in this way in auto trading. REally consistent manual trading like what Leon is doing for me is a guide to automation. Please Thomas don't take this as not understanding the power of what you have unleashed with TDesk and the matrix...................I am working hard on tests with current capability thanks to your efforts. I'll shut up now boys and get to work...............

Despite nobody would understand it, that is simply not my philosophy. TDesk is basically a trade entry system that maximizes your odds when betting on a direction. Exiting trades is a matter of trade management. I am very graceful that Steve has taken care of this part. Break even and trailing stops, pair and basket take profits are the things to concentrate on exiting trades. Entering trades in the right direction is perhaps 10% of the game, managing your trades is the real important thing. We proved this time ago with an expert that entered trades at random. I've been using it for a long time now and I haven't found anything better. I've taken a test run of your version and it looks to be spot on - nice one! However, I actually use the HAS line itself in my decision making as its position relative to price is also significant. Whilst the histo version you've done sends exactly the same signals to TD, would it be possible to have it draw the line instead of the histogram? I realise that my version ( MTF_HAS_Tend_TD ) might not be the lightest or most robust coding so I'm always keen to accept help getting to a version that is better. Thanks Bruster.

Hi Leon, Could I just ask what your Baluda SS settings are? I've tried applying the same indicator and kept all the default settings except for changing to one timeframe as D1 and I can't get it to give me the same plots as you've shown. Could you perhaps share a set file for that indi as you've got it set up so that I know I'm comparing like with like? In the attached image I've overlaid your indicator window in line with my setup. You can see that my Stoch replicates your setup exactly. (No surprise as I've checked and the price feeds overlay perfectly too). So if I'm using the same data then I should be able to get SS to show the same - I hope! Thanks in advance for your time Bruster.
