Don't think you can. If all conditions are still met, you will reenter the trades unless an option is added to avoid "continuing" trades. This may be done by only allowing one trade per "trade direction" i.e. the EA trades once when all buy conditions are met then wait until all conditions for a sell trade are met to trigger a new trade.

I use MPTM with a global closure for the moment.

Multiple trades triggered (with price after 1st stack line), but I'm still using original 1.0 version (not the updated one). I will update to new version ASAP.

Wondering why people need to run this as a basket and not as a set of various independent trades.
Can't see the point, in fact I actually believe we could even lose a bit of edge by closing trades only because basket reached target profit. Wouldnt we be closing some trades too earlier or too late?

I think this is in line with my dislike for fixed TP/SL pips (e.g. TPpips=100), but maybe its just me....

Yes, I know Jem Basket thread pretty well, I've also tested it a bit, with satisfying result (I've also signed up for his signal service beta...), but still I can't find, in any thread, the real reason behind it.

My 2 cents pros/cons analysis:

PROS:
- it waits for a sensible "common" retracement of a number of pairs, so entries are pretty solid.
- it frees trader from trade management (but you can obtain this also with single pair EAs)
- it's easy to track result, and do risk mgmt stuff, since events of are pretty homogeneous and predictable (eg. -600,0,+150,+600)

CONS:
- it doesn't take in account important S/R levels of every single pair, thus losing edge versus a strategy that places stop and profit target in a more sophisticated manner.
Just to make an example, original Bob theory recommends to hold any position |slope|>0.8. A basket closure might be closing this type of a trade...


Anyway, as you say, everyone has his style... ;)

I agree with your analysis ;)
Basket trading is like an easy way and does not reflect the *pure* NB10.2 trading style.

For me it demands less monitoring so I'm happy with that but if I would have more time to spend
in front on the charts I think I'll follow trade by trade too 8-)
