I've had a few PMs about my "Eureka" moment [!], so thought I'd post details here for everyone's benefit. It's not exactly earth shattering, but it has helped my understanding of CCs strategy no end!

Basically, I just used Ted's excellent cheat sheet [many thanks Ted!] to check each pair I'm monitoring [just the majors, EURGBP and a couple of Yen crosses].

I assess what the pivot "status" is and actually write it on my chart and place a vertical line at the point where that status started. If you do this for all the pairs you watch, you will soon begin to understand CCs instructions.

For example, here is EURUSD:
EURUSD.JPG
And AUDUSD
AUDUSD.JPG
And Cable
Cable.JPG
I'll be doing this every day as soon as the new daily pivot prints [end of NY session]. That way, I know what I'm looking for at the start of each European session in terms of longs or shorts.

However, I will be applying some discretion to the definitions - or maybe giving them a grading.

For example, Cable is currently defined as uptrend retracement, when clearly, price has been moving down for some time [on an H1 basis].

Anyway, that's it! Like I said, nothing earth shattering, but it helped me a great deal and hopefully it can help some of you guys.

Cheers,

Rob
Hi Rob,

Good for you! You're really taking to this like fish to water.

On Cable, you seem to have missed out on the emerging signal that DP has now crossed below MP twice - I explained in post #1 that this is a clear indication that a reverse bias (in this case DT) is emerging. Unfortunately, WP only updates weekly and will only show what is emerging now on Monday morning when it will drop below MP, closer to DP ...but if we can see the clear signal now, we can adjust our trading now, not wait till Monday. Therefore, I am now only looking for weak reds on the pair and taking the bias for GU as an emerging DT. Hope that helps.

By the way, note that the euro pairs discussed earlier may hit their highs without getting to the other FastTMALine, as there is an overwhelming downside pressure (tomorrow should be interesting). If your edge/TP is hit, lock it in.

Cheers,
CC

Hi Rjo,

Great work on the test EA. The update is that a GU buy trade alert was triggered last night that would have banked 35pips. Understandably, the alert went off because we have not yet implemented the emerging bias conditions that would have treated the pair as an "Emerging DT" but its a great start that we've got a first trigger.

There were infinite alerts on that one trigger! How can this be reduced, please? Also, can the narration be made more informative? What I got was this:

"10.2A CTS v1c GBPUSD,H1: Alert: M-Alert:BUY(Symbol(),0.0,0,0,0) Forex Signal: if ( ( iLow(Symbol(),0,1) <= iCustom(Symbol(),0, FastTMALine for EA ,2,0) ) && ( iCustom(Symbol..."

hi gt3rs
GT3RS wrote:I set Histo Level to 0.55 and it did it itself!!

VERY annoying that you can only have one histo level showing though. If you put them in on the "levels" tab, they disappear whenever you change timeframe or restart your platform..........
Normally you should also need to set the useHisto to true and only set the showTmaSlope to true.

Regarding the histo levels...I couldn't program more histo levels since each histo level needs it's own indicator buffer...and all buffers (8) are already occupied.

If you only talk about the standard levels you can set them and then save it as template. When you reload the template everything should be as you saved it.
In standard slope mode you can set the levels via the Parameter slopeLevel1-3.

happy trading,

NeoTrader

Thanks for the feedback! I see what you mean about the pivot movement on Cable. I've read your first post about 8 or 9 times, but I obviously need to go back and read it again!!!

It will not work without DWMPivots for EA in your indi's folder.

This is aimed at quantifying the language, "if price action & DP moves very far from MP..."

A few things... 240 is not a random period. It is based on post 1's use of 240 as a proxy for higher TF's. If 240 is ok (maybe, maybe not?), we need to determine:

The distance (+/-) of Mode 0 from Mode 3 that, when it occurs along with the distance (+/-) of Mode 1 from Mode 5, that will trigger emerging bias.

Note that this indi only addresses emerging bias of the second kind from post 1. The ATeam indi will take care of the first peaky/troughy back to pivot kind.

Now it's time for some shuteye.
Simply incredible, RJo!! I'm speechless. Great work. Thanks! I'll load it up asap.

Indeed, 240 isn't random. Some people use 200 periods but I just find that SMA(240) better approximates on a H1 Tf, the shape of SMA(10) on a D1 TF (maybe 10*24 has something to do with it) :D . It is just an optional way of knowing if on D1 TF, price is moving below/above SMA(10). As you can tell by now, I have a penchant for keeping a close eye on what's happening upstairs.

Brilliant!!! RJo, you are incredible!
This makes 10.2A CTS much easier and safer to trade.
A milestone has been reached. Thank you!!!

Excellent work !!

I´m sorry. I wrote Cyan for the D1 color when I meant Aqua, which is the color we use for the D1 TMA bands. I already changed the code in mine. The other two colors are perfect.

Thanks again.
