Gertje,
To clarify, I have used your setfile only on the daily timeframe with the exception of the 4 hourly time frame..I.o.w as per my setfile I had 25 trades at 1265 pips profit since the 1st of March so 25 signals. Lotsizing is something I cannot play with and as you know all in the ea works on one lot size and not per trading time frame. Early days will see how it plays out. Hope I am understanding you correctly?
Cheers
Leon

Thanks Gertje. This is where you come inWhile walking the dog, I gave it some thought.
Instead of scaling out like you do, one could scale in.
Leave the TP as they are, but for the 25TP, add 75 to the “bufferpips”, for the 50TP add 50,and for the 75TP add 25.
This way the trades will be spread 25pips apart, and TP and the exact same spot.
Now you don’t have 4 trades going against you initially, but only one.
Time to setup a new demo I guess......
Cheers

Hi LeonWavegarrick » Sat May 26, 2018 3:07 am wrote:Hi Guys,
Something I am playing with as a spin off to Gertje's setfile. Peaky on Steroids on the daily timeframe undoubtedly has given me the best returns. My idea is to have exactly the same entry criteria with peaky on the daily time frame 1682 candle lookback on four trading time frames. First trading time frame take profit 25 pips, second 50 pips, 3rd 100 pips and finally 200 pips using all timeframes with peaky on the daily time frame. All other settings remain exactly the same as Gertjes settings.
Simplified, all 4 entries will be at exactly the same price with 4 different take profits.

Interesting idea.
And are you going to divide your standard trading size /4 ?
I ask because when there is a move against you,
you will have multiples of x4 trades going the wrong way

Hi Bill,
Thankfully, Gertje immediately put me on the correct path. I must take my dogs for a walk more often
I will set (play) with the bufferpips as he suggested.
Anyway, I just started testing this so will see if this is a worthy path to follow.
Cheers

Yes, you are absolutely correct. My drawdown would go up excessively if the 4 trades go against me. My initial thoughts were that POS only posted 25 entries with a drawdown of just over 3% , and $137 in losses in three months, with that I could increase the stakes. There is always that "what if" and in forex, this will always become a reality at some point. And are you going to divide your standard trading size /4 ?

BOJ Manipulation
I think this is again one of the BOJ intervention, 3.00 AM Bruxel, that is to say 2.00 London in summer. It should make 1.00 AM London in winter if I am not wrong.SteveHopwood » Wed Apr 04, 2018 9:07 pm wrote:Do you remember Scooby-doo from our FF and very early SHF days? The longer I trade this, the more i’m convinced that the movements are on purpose, due to people on the other side of the screen.
He taught us that BOJ would manipulate the markets at about 1.00 AM London time if it needed cash to finance the purchase of oil.
That was a decade ago and who knows what BOJ might be getting up to these days. What we do know is that we do not want to be on the wrong side when a central bank intervenes - remember the Swissy that I quote early in all of my threads these days?
Good to see you on the right side.![]()

It was on wednesday, I do not see any particular reason, there was only this Flash manufacturing PMI.
Did someone already see others details in the past ? which day ? is it always on Wednesday ?Frequency ? It could help to be able to improve EA on these pairs...

V 1k is in post 1, with the fix for incorrect lots per dollop of cash calculation that I described in the SPB thread.
Turn off "Match whole word only" if you want to DIY to find the 5 double declarations that need changing to int's. Ignore the 'possible loss of data' warnings when you compile - they are irrelevant.

Update on my tiny live account with Gertije's 3 sets.
Last week was very uneventful - closed 2 baskets manually by Wednesday with ~4% increase in equity, and since then markets were completely dead.
Restarted all 3 sets/EAs this morning again from scratch, here is the situation after 3 weeks

I salute you for the guts to trade this with that small an account. :hi:
After nearly a year with PoS I find it astonishing that I lost so many accounts, while now it seems so plain simple to profit.
Last week I made nearly 4.700 real pips, today alone already over 2.100

You are not alone. It is why SHF exists, after all.Gertje » Mon May 28, 2018 10:33 am wrote: After nearly a year with PoS I find it astonishing that I lost so many accounts,
Not sure where we go from here now that we have several profitable EA's. OK, so we have to refine our trading but we are light years away from where we were in 2011 at the inception of this forum. What next?while now it seems so plain simple to profit.
Here is what I propose. Make bucket-loads of cash and worry about what to do with it later.
Read the effing manual, ok?
