Wow, what chaos these past few days. Pairs are cutting through the 240 and 60 lines like they don't even exist. I here you @zentauro67 about the 60 LWMA buy and sell but anyone got any trading ideas at the moment? (Big news for AUD and JPY today so expect some movement there - question is which way?) |

Oh well was having a nice week. Not making much money but not losing much either. Hanging around just above break even for the last 4 weeks. Not sure how to handle these Blah blah bankers. 3% up 2% down 1% up 2% down 4% up 3% down. Everything is hanging around the 240 line or is out beyond the S1/R1 so not much trading out there I like. i guess i will just hang onto what i have and see if I can do something with it. Way to go Benny Boy. |

Made on the GBPJPY Bob and took a tumble on the GBPUSD. High impact news was pending and the pair was looking vulnerable. Should have trusted my intuition and got out earlier or closed the order. |

Yeah, got hit with the GBPUSD as well, and as someone else said, was to early to go long on AUDJPY so got stopped out of that one as well. Then there's the EUR which has a will of its own at the moment. Looks like there might be a few possibilities with buys on the CAD at the moment, but Agree with you Bob - sidelines for now and wait for another day. |

Hi, Lydia I´m using this one: I tried several settings until I get a very close version of a 60 LWMA using this: This KAMA is very useful to put SL some pips above/below. For me was the second line of defense (240 being the last, and a 20EMA the first) but I´ll use it this month as last line of defense. If price goe beyond it I´m out. In regard to hooks (or swings) in a clear trend most of times (75%) are bouncing on the 20EMA. Only 25% bouncing on the 60 (Kama) Best thing should be stay out, but as I never could stop trading a single day I try to avoid DD using 60 as SL line. |

I don't think there is a strategy available that works all the time. The forex markets are evolving all the time, and I am forming a view that it will become untradeable for small players in time. I think you are right, Bob ... we get this lack of wind-in-the-sails when price hangs around the 240. My own trading took a step back a a couple of weeks back, and I withdrew from live trading activities until I am able to know with a better degree of understanding, exactly what I am doing, and what I am dealing with. Let's hope things get back to more reliable setups soon. The principles of NB 10.4 et al are sound and sensible. If I have assessed it correctly, this involves getting in front of a setup before it moves, and if it doesn't move, then you lose nothing. The issues right now are that the forex markets have been hijacked by the jaw-boning central bankers - a tradition turned into an art-form by none other than Al Greenspan, and further perfected by his disciples in most of the world's central banks. The markets still follow the trends that are driven by economics vis a vis the Monthly 2MA/4H 240, however these economic trends are obstructed and made more volatile than they ought to be as a result of these bankers interfering in things that are essentially out of their control. I say that because the words of a central banker have very little to do with the International settlement of a deal between Nissan (cars) and Australia ... or Caterpillar (machinery) and South Africa ... (for example). Yes, the currencies DO move where economics dictate, but I think we are seeing them get there through a more tortuous route than previously ... or necessary For this reason I am expanding my horizons, and looking to trade even higher TF than the 4H. There are indicators available that easily allow trading the 8H and 12H TF on Empty4 platforms ... but even that is a bit too complicated for me - I think I will explore the daily and 2D TF and see where that goes. As first endeavour, I will be using the NB10.4 strategy and indicators, but ... I have to say ... if it falls in a heap at that level, then I am unafraid to look at strategies that may be better suited to those TF. Sadly ... even the 4H is now looking a tad noisy for my liking. Feel free to disagree - this is just an idea ... an opinion ... and hopefully will stimulate an improvement in the bottom line for many of us. I can post those indies that allows adaptation to different TF not offered by Empty4 ... but really there are threads on FF dealing quite well with those things already. |
