had a licensing exam for the day job that i had to study for so been quite busy.
moreover the market has been jolted at its roots(we were pretty much expecting it given how things have slowed).
other than the AUD and NZD and USD related pairs the rest look iffy.
held an AUDUSD short over the weekend that hit TP.

i missed the early start up to the week GMT+0(8am) longs on EURNZD/EURAUD GBPNZD/GBPAUD
nothing motivates me for now.

waiting for pullbacks in GBPUSD USDCAD
and let the USD trend firm up itself.

its easy to say it wasn't an easy week.

but...my EURNOK call to long....blew out 3000pips. so i mean...its not actually a bad week just things are getting rocky cause of the FED.
and why not. taper. reduction of the pace of bond buying.

if you stare at a seismograph and wonder why it suddenly spikes...would you blame the seismograph or realise the initial pulses of an earthquake are going on?
(don't do 10.4 on a seismograph tho...it much reverts to the mean due to the physics nature that its physics-biological-geological-newtoninanly nigh impossible to maintain a perpetual earthquake etc etc but you get my point).

the participants in a seismograph versus the participants in a financial money exchange are different.

DowJones FXCM Dollar index is a screaming buy after the Bernanke bullet.

note:its actually an equal weighted measurement of only 4 currencies against USD.
EUR, GBP , JPY and AUD...which to them is 80% of world wide currency spot market.

personally i prefer the older DXY futures contract as that also includes CAD and SEK but excludes AUD.

By the way - if anyone wants my template for the above pic, it's attached below.

I have had some requests for it - it's identical to Bob's except I have reduced the CSS to 50 bars and the Pivots/RSI2 to 100 bars. You can change them back easily enough - but the way I have it saves heaps of CPU.

yea the DXY.
there's a futures contract tied to it so it gets alot more players at this table at the forex casino.

Hi Nico ... I think it was Gertje who posted that Liteforex had all the Indexes (Indices) of the majors.

I checked it out and keep it on the desktop to help with daily bias with each one.

For me the greatest use so far has been in keeping tabs on YEN strength/weakness.

It is a real hog on CPU though - at least it was on my computer. Not sure why one Empty4 makes lighter/heavier demands on one computer more than another ... but this one does on my machine. So I only have the 8 indices and I load NB 10.4/10.5 on them.

i thought there was a broker with futures DXY feed. haha!

i guess it still counts too, same constituents and cash n futures don't deviate too much in movement.
love hunting for free feeds. its like finding treasure.

hmm perhaps its the way the data is fed to the Empty4 and reprocessed. this im not sure. gotta ask those who know Empty4 inside out.

:) still learning still developing.

10.4/10.5/Jem definitely sets one right if one desires to be involved in the currency world.

even XAUUSD too. its been bang on that one too.

i downloaded both mt5 n Empty4 to compare how things are. :)
but its great. a different style CSS. :)
