OK guys. I got a hot tip for you from a Forex analyst. If you understand it I want you to know I agree with what he is saying .............. or trying to say.

Both GU and EU are currently deviated in negative medium term volatility envelopes at this time as a result.

I love analysts. :) I agree for now.

1) The TMA that you use?
2) what time/s (GMT) you check your Daily charts?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,

I use the standard TMA, 50period, 100ADR. Enter every 50pips from one line to the other and then back again. I check my charts too much, once a day should suffice.

I wouldn't recommend trying to copy this "method", DD is really, really bad.
I'm trying to get out of the DD at the moment, if and when the market allows me. After that I will resume trading more or less the same way, but with lower lotsize. If my current lotsizing gives me appr. 80+% monthly with 75%DD, than 1/5th of the lotsize should give 15+% return with 15%DD.....
[At least in theory]

I added MPTM last week to set BE+5 on every trade that goes 80pips in profit, to reduce DD when price retraces. This way I have a max of 2 open orders in DD. I first tried this at 50pips, but was stopped out too often on smaller retraces. I'm thinking about putting a 100pip SL as well, so the 'damage' once price makes a 180 is limited to 200pips.

Hi Bob,

I'm not sure what to make of this, they will spread the buying out across the whole month?
Possibly to prevent the whipsawing?

They always have, the difference being you could see dates and times when they had their sales now you dont know when it will happen. I think this will stop or slow down those that like running to the YEN every time there is Chinese bad news. So I see aud and nzd being their safe currency of choice. So far this year the GBP has been since CHF is tied to the euro by the SNB. Basically this month I will be looking to go short JPY and long AUD and NZD. I hope I can see some of these trades using the 30M chart and then moving to the higher end charts when all this is confirmed. I have adjusted the STO indi to only show trades in these directions and see what happens.

This is an example how I take what I think the fundamental news is going to be and adjust my indis to follow that pattern. The one buggaboo I will be watching for though is what happens Thursday with the EURO. Too many people are writing about it so there will be alot of focus on it. Negative interest rates, if they implement that it will be a game changer. That is why I am expecting aud and nzd to go up along with usd and cad being high middle and eur, chf, jpy taking dive. GBP will be drug down along with it but it should be slower and possibly delayed. Euro money may run there first so its possible gbp may not drop right away if the eur, chf do. But I have never been a good guesser of the GBP.

Why I will keep selling the JPY long term. Buy the dips/rallies.

Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda warned on Tuesday against prematurely discussing a strategy for withdrawing its massive stimulus program, stressing that the priority now was to keep flooding markets with cash to meet the bank’s inflation target. He also called on the government to map out a credible growth strategy and take measures to boost Japan’s long-term growth potential, as improvements in the economy and an aging population have led to labor shortages. “Talking at an early stage about specific plans for exiting (quantitative easing) risks confusing markets, as we’ve seen in examples overseas,” Kuroda told parliament,

Yeah markets moved if you closed quickly on the moves you had great evening. If not the profits disappeared quickly. Euro weakness will be around with the interest rate cut so I will be looking for euro sells.

It seems as if EURUSD has a magnet for the year. During 2013, 1.33 was acting as a kind of center of gravity in the pair, with price dancing softly around it. My feelings are that 1.36 will be the magnet for the whole 2014 but with Mr. Draghi one never knows.

Well some bank, probably the Germans, made sure price didnt go below 1.35. I am sure there is a great deal of disagreement over this policy, so as some want the euro to depreciate others do not. Dragonhead finally decided to do something so after every rally will look to sell. CSS will show us the way but if you get some decent sell profit better take it quickly before someone jumps in and ruins the game.

Those that think there is going to be a world currency someday, I cant ever see how they can ever make it work. I could see regional currencies, like the euro is, but even regional currencies have serious issues. Each country or area needs the flexibility of their own currency that matches their economy or you some areas will always have serious problems of too much debt or too much surplus. So currency trading is here to stay. Anyway just some thoughts.
