Hi Bob,

If you the kind of guy that will keep a setup for a few years and just want to have enough power to trade, emails and internet then you can't go wrong with an all in one setup.

The only downside of the all in one setup is the same as most laptops... You are stuck with what you have for a few years as upgrading anything other than the memory and the storage is very limited at best.

Ps... Your new shiny pc is most certain to come with Windows 8 pre-installed. If you have never used Windows 8 and are used to Windows 7 or older you may find Windows 8 very different and possibly slightly irritating apart from the missing start button.

If so there are simple ways to make windows 8 look and feel like Windows 7 and older.

Hi all,

Just to clarify what the wavy buffers are :

buffer7 is telling you there is weakness in the trend, whatever the trend was.
buffer8 is telling you we are most likely exiting the weakness zone.

the position of the wavy lines are related to the conditions of the signal :

Buffer7 :
We are coming from an uptrend and entering weakness => wavy lines on top on the candles.
We are coming from a downtrend and entering weakness => wavy lines under the candles.

Buffer8 :
We are exiting weakness zone into what could be an uptrend => wavy lines under the candles.
We are exiting weakness zone into what could be a downtrend => wavy lines on top of the candles.

Just a further point of clarification. Buffers 7 and 8 mentioned here are Buffers 6 and 7 when seen in the colors tab, and via iCustom as used by HGB. [Empty4 uses base 1 in properties i.e. 1 to 8, visible only in source code, and base 0 in code and in the Colors Tab i.e. 0 to 7, which contributes to this kind of confusion.]

HGI version 15.04 now has different default colours for these buffers (Gold for 6 and Dodger Blue for 7) which helps a lot.

yes in the actual version it does.., it shows you at which price exact the signal was created

I am planning on going out later and buying a new computer. I see that all in ones, computer built into the screen, and the standard computer, box is separate from the screen. Are there any issues with all in ones being run 24/7 compared with a standard desktop. I know i would clean out my desktop computer from dust a couple times a year. Is that an issue with the all in ones, dust collects inside and you cant clean them out?

Would like to add my experience re the Dell All in One - I treated myself to one of the first ones in the UK a few years ago and just love it - I travel a lot and it is marvelous to be able to take my trading screen everywhere with me like a large tablet: always causes amusement going through airport security. Took me a while to get used to Windows 8 but now am converted.

Re VPS although I won't mention the name of the criminal - never had a problem but you never know and I think their spreads are competitive - I get a free VPS as part of the deal which has been mega reliable.

Hopefully, next time you are on your travels I will be able to meet you somewhere along the way - today HGI has passed with flying colours through massive variability. I am slowly closing down trades for next week, but the cumulative % marches on. Over Christmas I am going to write up my trading plan for next year. Will be in Oz so hours will be a bit different but looking forward to a New Year of trading.

I'd go with a HTPC style computer like the Gigabyte Brix with a Core i5 or i7 processor with Iris Pro 5200 or Nvidia discrete graphics. Then add at least 8 GB of RAM and a SSD instead of a mechanical hard drive. That will be lightning fast and you can probably use the VESA mount on the monitor to mount it on the monitor if you'd like.

Extra benefit is that you can move the computer and for instance attach it to your TV if you want to
trade with lager screen or watch a movie, just get a wireless keyboard with built in touch pad.

In my opinion, we use our pcs a lot, and probably let them running 24h/24h.

A big tower is the best, with a nice cooling system (less heat, more durability), and if something breaks inside, it's easy to change.

I share this opinion, as it is the best if you want to use a computer really 24/24 7/7..

Yep. Waiting for the Aussie dollar to come back up a bit before I get some parts imported (the Australia tax kills us on PC gear). Not sure how much longer my laptop is going to take this abuse.
Itnseems I wouldn't want to hold my breath though; I may not survive it
