In case some of you wondered how the STO 7 compared with the RSI2. the RSI2 is the yellow line and STO 7 is the Maroon line. I marked where the STO 7 would give its trade signal. It takes the guess work out of the best place to try to enter. It also gives a couple more signals than the RSI 2. With these more specific entrance marks I saw no need to keep the CSS on every chart. You get an alert now when you should try to enter and the STO 7 seems to fit perfectly with the RSI 2 when a real signal is valid. This should lead to fewer trades or guesses as when to enter and better specific entrances. So now with Alan's adjustment to the STO to only signal sells below the 240 and buys above the 240. We should have less DD and fewer trades hitting our SL. You will notice every single trade except the 4th one would have had some profit at some point. The 4th trade may or may not have taken at the DP line. So those are the results of my study. I have incorporate Alan's changes into my screen and went back to the 60 MA from 10.4/10.5 to keep some consistancy. In other words I am adjusting 10.6 to fit with the 10.4 model in all areas except for the gird numbers. I am using the xx.00 over the s/r lines. This is the usd/jpy 10.4 trades for the last 4 weeks. I think you will see the improvements. Less guess and more specific trades. |

Here is the STO with CSS. You can see the signal to trade is much earlier and much more accurate than the CSS and RSI2 combo. In ranging markets the CSS was just to slow. |

Bob Can you make a definitive statement of when someone should get in based on the STO movement?

The best entrances are blue line. DP or WP. That is what I have been doing for the last 9 days with this. |

Right but what do you look for in the STO. Is it simply below 20/above 80? Is it crossing?

Thanks Bob I have been following you for a while now and I have not participated, simply because I don't like to change or comment on something good already in place. There are some good contributors that are certainly helping in evolving your system which is simply great. I particularly like the fact that you adapt to market conditions and keep us up to date and more so nice to have you back in this forum after your vacation. Regards. |

Hey Bob, glad to see you are back in Nanning with the school up and running. I haven't been following the forum much since we met up with you in Orlando back in July. I have been doing some trading on the original 10.4 over the last few weeks using H4 CSS as a guide to quickly pick pairs but got away from 10.5 as the CSS was too slow in this market as you mentioned. Like you, I have traded small, about broke even and lived to trade another day. I have downloaded everything you supplied on 10.6 and will begin working with it immediately. As many have mentioned, we appreciate all of your efforts in developing these systems and thank you for your comments and advice. |

When price crosses down past 80 or 60 the sto gives a signal. When is crosses up over 20 or 40 it gives a signal. From that signal you decide whether or not to enter a trade. Look for your best entrance over a blue line, WP, DP. Then go to the SL TP page and choose which MA line you think would work best on the trade and what TF you want to start your SL TP EA. You should be able to see a good risk to reward ratio using the next blue line as your TP target. The trade is then monitored on the server by the SL TP set by the pending trade and on your computer by the MA line EA. The trade will then do one of 4 things: 1. hit your SL set by the pending buy/sell script 2. hit your SL set by the MA EA 3. hit your TP set by the pending buy/sell script or where ever you set the TP line 4. hit your trailing SL TP of the moving MA EA |

OK thanks so much. I was thinking that you wouldn't move until things were high/low. But you seem to be saying that the crosses at high/low levels are important.

If you are moving back into the trend these are excellent trades. I also am experimenting with CT trades when the 240 line is flat so I set pending limits near the 100 lines. For example I am trying the gbp/aud as a CT trade this morning to see if it bounces off the 100 line again. It will be the 4th time it has done that in the last two weeks and so far I am up 23 pips. Seeing if I can get 90+ heading back to the blue line below. I can set a +5 on it now and I will set a SL EA on it and let it. See where it goes. GBP on the info page seems to be losing its steam so I will try some CT trades using this also. |
