I totally agree, having built all my computers and servers myself over the years. They are getting even less complicated to make then before, are very reliable, and on the long run cheaper.
Having lived in Asia for 8 years, I know that your local computer-shop will gladly order all your parts and put it together (for free) as well. One thing I really enjoy is that they have these very quite casings and main-boards now, I hardly hear my computer at all, I sometimes even check, if it's still running, lol!

Also if you get a nice led screen, it will survive several computer upgrades.. In Holland you can get these Refurbishment Led Dell screens 27Inch (2560*1440) very cheap, (https://www.spicydeals.eu/en/169-monitor?) and I am sure it is not only in Holland..:-) I have seen many of my "still good" laptop screens go, since the laptop main board could not be fixed, rest my case..

Well I got my computer and I am grateful for all the advice. The deciding factor were several so here it goes. I went out and go me a HP monster.

1. First it had to be an AMD because my son worked for them. I got a AMD A107700K with 10 computer cores. I didnt even know they did that.
2 12G memory
3 2 TB of hard drive, dont ask me what I will do with all that I hve never filled a 250 HD.
4. Beats audio and R7 graphics board plus a bunch of other computer jargon stuff.

Gonna need to adjust to Windows 8.1. Will be putting it together today and then have to go out and buy a new mattress.

Al I also got a wifi booster since Grandma's house is brick and block

I am ready to conquer the Forex world. Ohhhhhhhh only a 23 inch monitor anything bigger made my eyes go buggy. So I am ready.

I took some losses and now am close to closing out for the year. DD is getting cleaned out. Fundamentally gonna ride the JPY sells from here on out since the election boost run is now over. I also think the oil shock news has made its run. Even though oil may run lower most of the move is priced into Forex for now.

However, NZD is a no no this time of the year. It can spike like crazy with lack of volume. The history sections have been wiped but it once moved over 2000 pips on Christmas eve one year. So beware. ME I am stupid once again and will close Dec. probably on the losing end. I have only had one winning month of Dec. in all my trading years and that was the year I shut down before Dec. 10

Bob, that sounds like a great setup. All that power and memory will be a good defense to all the crapola that Empty4 tries to deliver.

If you haven't already, I would really recommend a second monitor. After having one for a couple of years, I couldn't operate without. I keep the smaller 20" monitor in front of me, then the 26" off to the side. Empty4 charts stays on the big one and the Forums & browser are in front. It's my sweet setup.

Hope you like Orlando after all those years in China.

If the sales person told you it's a 10 core CPU it was somewhat of a lie. It's a quad CPU core.
But because they also count the built in graphics cores they call it a "ten core".
Which is only useful if the software you run can benefit from heterogeneous computing, which almost all can't.
Nice rig anyways.

When running Windows 8 (or 8.1) and you want the start menu back you can install Classic shell
so it looks and "feels" like it used to. I have done that on my kids computers (I have Windows 7).

Thanks for the heads up about NZD, I have stopped trading for the year yesterday, but was thinking maybe just one more long with catching the swap when it's not happening much. Now I won't.
