Your thoughts were my first ones Gary and I didn't think that could make the difference I'm seeing. However, as it seems AUD is the currency primarily affected I had another thought, but I am not sure exactly how the indi works so it might be rubbish. ;-)

Essentially GMT brokers will get the first part (3 hours currently) of the Sydney open at the end of the day - where AUD has some volatility, whereas that is the start of the day for GMT+3 brokers. At the end of each day the "daily line" is completed so even though the price is a reflection of previous periods it also will be affected by the last part of the "day" and what was missed in the first 3 hours of the starting period. I hope that makes some sense.

Could that cause the disparity?

I will just monitor both and see what suits.

btw I tried turning Ignore Sunday bars or whatever it is called on/off and it made no difference today - maybe it would earlier in the week when it might have a larger % impact.....then again not much usually happens on a Sunday AND the price will still have moved the same amount from the Friday close if it is just ignored and the indi starts from Monday - just over a slightly shorter period for averaging.

Cheers,
Dave.

I had the same problem regarding GMT , I used the easy solution and downloaded Empty4 from Cowboy IBFX USA ..

Problem solved , my charts are the same as Bobs.....

Bob, I would like to thank you for the time and effort you have put into showing us all how you trade ......
You are a true gentleman ...

The vast majority of my trades this week have been NZD and AUD weakening and USD strengthening. The one exception has been the gbp/aud which I have been playing its bounce off its high for the 4th time. That one currency CT trades have accounted for almost 1/4 of all my pips. Interesting how a week pans out sometimes. I am not doing my 1% a day this week. Monday stunk with only one trade taken for profit so that is the main reason. I need a 1.5% day to do it. LETS GO FRIDAY. :)

Since Paul wrote it, I'm going to assume it's correct, but in a quick glance it looks like it just offsets the start of the GetSlope calculation so it doesn't start on a Sunday.

It still has an internal 21-candle Slope length and 100-candle ATR, and it does not adjust those for Sundays, so I believe they're still off by a factor of 5/6 unless you're on GMT+0.
Gary you make a good point but I would think over a 100 candle period it should not make that big of a change. Instead of looking back 20 weeks it will be looking back 17 weeks. I would think that would be sufficient look back. Since it does not redraw the past lines I would not think this would affect it enough to change the basic view. If USD is running strong the last two weeks both would show this progress. Anyway that is what I would suspect.

I agree the 100-bar ATR probably wouldn't change that much. I'm less sure about the 21-bar Slope.

Dave's point about getting a Sunday bar with just the Asian market action might have more impact?

Has anyone experienced any issues with the closing EAs? I had them on the charts last night to close out while I was asleep, woke up this morning and trades were still open and past the MAs.

Luckily no trades at a loss, but my AUDUSD trade that almost made it to the RN and should have closed out around 25pips ended up completely retracing to the entry and I closed it at break even.

note- Probably should look at setting TP slightly prior to RN or above/below any previous H/L points that might be sup/res to avoid missing out.

I played with some of the figures. If you change the ATR from to 25 or 10 it gives the angles slightly bigger move but does not significantly change the chart. For example if GBP set at 100 reads 44, at 25 ATR it is 45 but at 10 ATR it is 52. All the angles increase a little sharper and may make for an easier read. So I may consider changing the ATR to see sharper angles.

Changing the slope however really changes the screen angles. If you change them from 21 to 10 then the GBP moves from 1st to third and its number is 4.30, the USA moves to 2nd at 5.76 and the Euro is 5.77. The angles become very steep and much easier to read but do they reflect the market. Maybe getting a more 4H TF read instead. Dont know will have to study this.

Here is what a 10 ATR 10 SLOPE looks like. It shows USD JPY moving up and EURO, CHF, GBP moving down. CAD, AUD, NZD leveled. We will see how well it predicts today. Sometimes I think studying charts is more fun than trading. Wish I could make money at it.
