I'm no expert, but I'd say just close it. You should have had a stop at the 240 line so if you were sticking to the rules, effectively it would have been closed anyway. Maybe given it was a trade very close to the 240 you might have used previous swing low or the next DS Line down. Either way it was a loser.
Just got to take them on the chin and use the exit techniques to try and minimise you losses as much as possible on trades that don't work out. Not sure how long you've been trading NB, myself only very recently started. It seems from reading a lot of the threads that trades around the 240 can be tricky, so maybe avoid them if you are a beginner with NB like me.

you're right there friday, it was to close to the 240 ma, and should have placed my stop at the 240ma, as you say, have to be more disciplined, its pulled back a bit from the low, if it goes back to the DP i will close it, this market at the moment is very tricky, holiday time, same every year

art, thanks for posting your trades. This is how we all learn!
In my case, I'm trading quite conservatively and the MA, while biased up, is pretty flat and not indicating any real momentum. This would cause me to be wary of such a trade. I don't like ambiguity. Or at least trade it with a reduced risk.

absolutely right forex, something else i forgot to observe, the angle of the MA, it was flat as you say, so no real momentum, anyway closed the trade with not to much damage, in this market, its best to sit on your hands, or very small lots, moving from line to line as bob suggests

Re: 10.4/10.5 trades only
Sorry if this is not the place to ask, but I have a question regarding the 1H CSS history column of the Tommm mod to the YAD dash, and as I found the EA here in this thread, here it goes. The question in on the attached image, if someone could answer I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I got my answer! I'm getting screen time and I watched it change after I changed TF to refresh. Thanks anyway.
EDIT 2: If anyone cares, the last letter refers to the most recent candle, it is not a locked value!

Re: 10.4/10.5 trades only
I had taken a long position on UsdJpy at about 97.2.
1. Looking at the CSS, the JPY showed a steep angle down, and USD was pointing up (although it was not quite a golden rod)
2. UsdJpy prices showed a classic Elliott Wave formation, and the chart looked like the beginning of a Wave C formation.
3. I had taken a long below the 240 MA so this is not strictly a 10.5 trade, but the price has been ranging up/down the MA.
Edit: First TP reached at WP, second TP at WMR1.

Re: 10.4/10.5 trades only
It is a good trade. 10.4/5 is mainly a trend trading system, it makes some money during range times but much more dynamic in trends. One of the keys of becoming a good trader is learning to switch gears when trading year round. When markets range you range trade, when they trend you trend trade. Knowing how to switch back and forth will make you a consistant trade.6y588 wrote:I had taken a long position on UsdJpy at about 97.2.
