Re: Multi 10:4 Trader EA
I have noticed many of losing trades from this EA happen in "buying resistence" or "selling support" scenarios. Big fan of Slipshod´s s/r indi ( http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... f=27&t=514 ), who is built with an EA approach, i wonder if it would be possible a filter for not taking trades in "proven supports" or "proven resistence" areas, tested 3 or bigger. Both 4h or Daily could work. The choice of avoiding this trades (in spite of 10.4 who does not take much in consideration S/R) would be nice.
Buying a triple top sounds crazy even if it is a perfect 10.4 setup.

Yes, I agree with what you are saying, like last week we were taking gold trades straight into the 200 MA, crazy.
But, I have an EA that only takes trades if we have a D1, 200' 55 or 21 EMA as support or resistance, also included in the strategy are the correct D1 Fibonacci lines, for example, to take a long, price would have to drop below one of the R lines move back up above and close, then more than 4 D1 correlated pairs +/- heading in the same direction.
They carry on down in the same direction, this is where the trader comes into play.
I also programmed the EA when we have a trade rolling and we have one of those S/R lines above/below, to alert me we are driving into one of them, do we close the trade? Then price drives straight though them.
The EA can take the trades, but the trader needs to use skill also.
Best Regards
Andy

Hey Slipshod,
I didn't realise it was you who did that indicator, I used that indicator last year, nice work.

Re: Multi 10:4 Trader EA
Can someone please tell me what is wrong with this? I can no longer get the full screen of pairs and it no longer refreshes. Have removed EA, Re booted the computer but nothing changes. Expert reads "cannot load external expert 'stdlib' "
Thanks heaps.

I had the same problem. Tried changing times, to no avail. I finally would loading a fresh copy of Empty4 and started from scratch. That did it for me.pathenry wrote:Can someone please tell me what is wrong with this?

Yesterday, my Cowboy IBFX 10K demo was 3% down at London close. Today, gain of about 2% (today I have switched to using stochastics)

This Stratergy works, you only need to look at a Monthly chart, price below the 2, short, price above 2 long.
Drawdown is part of the game.

You are absolutely right, MrLong. So long as the trend persists, the trade will eventually go into profit. It is a loss only if the stop loss is hit.
Slow and steady is the way to go.
I am indeed very grateful to you and many others who continue to improve this ea.

I think I spotted the problem:
Code: Select all
void UpdateGrid() {
string sLine = "_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "; // const on local scope
string sSig = "signal"; // "
string sObj = "";
string sTxt = "";
for (int y = 0; y < PairIndex + 1; y++) {
if ( OrderSelect ( GetTicket( Pairs[y]), SELECT_BY_TICKET) == true )
sObj = "line" + 1 + y;
double dMarketInfoBid = MarketInfo (Pairs[y], MODE_BID );
if ( OrderSymbol() == Pairs[y] && OrderType() == OP_BUYSTOP && dMarketInfoBid > OrderOpenPrice() - 10 / PFactor(Pairs[y]) && dMarketInfoBid < OrderOpenPrice() + 10 / PFactor(Pairs[y]) ) // select the master Trades
ObjectSetText ( sObj, sLine, fontSize + 8, displayfont, BullishColor);
else if ( OrderSymbol() == Pairs[y] && OrderType() == OP_SELLSTOP && dMarketInfoBid > OrderOpenPrice() - 10 / PFactor(Pairs[y]) && dMarketInfoBid < OrderOpenPrice() + 10 / PFactor(Pairs[y]) ) // select the master Trades
ObjectSetText ( sObj, sLine, fontSize + 8, displayfont, BearishColor);
else
ObjectSetText ( sObj, "", fontSize + 8, displayfont, gridBackColor); // added to remove the line when conditions are not met.// added mr Long
Code: Select all
