The ea will take a trade based on the blue wavy, provided all the other conditions you have specified in the ea are met.

I will play with the settings. I've attached my set file as well. I see signals visually and it is accurate.

It does say "We have a sell signal on the trading time frame"
I will try "EveryTickMode" and "ImmediateMarketOrders" to TRUE if it still doesn't trade.

Lamdog.... just had a quick look at your set file and from what I can see is that you have immediate market orders set to true and under associated details max trades set to zero. Change this to 1 or more, depends on how many trades you want the ea to load for each condition, and you should get trades also set stack by candle direction to true.

In additional to what you recommended, I uninstall Empty4.
There was definitely something wrong with my old templates because when I load them in new Empty4, it wouldn't work, no HGB simile/sad icon etc.

I start my charts from scratch again and lo and behold, everything works now.

I read from MurphyMan we need to delete mqlcache.dat, the EX4 and MQ4 when updating the EA. Maybe that's also part of the reason it wasn't trading.

I recently discovered this wonderful forum and the plethora of useful indi's and EA's on offer for free here. Truly amazing stuff ! :clap:
And on top of that the SHF-community seems to consist solely of intelligent, non-altruistic traders. I am grateful that I found this place. :good:

I read HGI-basics, a good portion of HGI and all of this thread (as well as pages and pages of other ineresting topics like Baluda CSS, the 10.x series et al.) Obviously, I have thoroughly read (studied even) the mauals of the tools I currently use.
As a result I can wrap my head around most of the HGI and HGB-mechanics, so I started demo-testing on an FXCM-account 2 weeks ago (I know, bad ciriminal, I also read about GP, and seriously consider swapping out my current criminal for Global Prime)

Questions do still arise however, and re-reading the manual, searching this forum and inspecting the code have failed to provide for an answer, so I turn to the good people of SHF for a gentle push in the right direction. My flaming-shields are up, just in case :)

I noticed this behaviour on USDCAD earlier today (but also a couple of times last week, on different pairs)

I tried to retrace the sequence of events. This is what I believe happened:
º a blue wavy line appeared below the candle at 0828 GMT+2. Price was around 1.33045 then.
º HGB placed multiple pending buy orders, the first (lowest) one at 1.33400 with SL and TP 300
º the second one at 1.33600 with SL and TP both 300
º the 1.33800 did not get placed
º neither did the 1.34000 (but this seems logical, since I have 'TrendWaveMiss100' set to true)
º the next pending trade placed was at 1.34200, and then at 1.34400 and so on

I have 2 questions:
º What could have happened to the 1.33800 ?? Is it too close to the 1.34000 to be placed ?? If so, what setting makes this so ??
º Why is the first buy order only placed at 1.33400, although price was at 1.33045 ?? Why does HGB decide to 'skip' or 'miss' the first 400 pips ?
Could these lines be the cause ??

Is there something wrong with the digits being used (as you can see in the screenshot, this criminal uses 5 for USDCAD). Or with the value of 'factor' perhaps ?? I see a reference to 'factor' in line 569 in the code, referring to line 846, which in turn points to a function starting on line 5853. I suspect that is the code that figures out the number of digits (and thus the size of a pip) and deem it possible a wrong result is being used.

For the sake of completeness I also add a screen of HGB's Trend trading settings. Notice I had to divide the TP and SL values by 10 to get them where they are now (I would otherwise be stopped out way too late, or never reach TP)

Yes. It becomes Dottybot with all the code improvements made by Thomas. That is why I deleted the Dottybot thread as it was leading people down blind alleys.

Regarding full hedge handling

From the manual we can read

"Having a full hedge trade open turns off offsetting. I am not sure if this is the correct approach yet."

The EA as the option AllowOffsettingWhenHedged true/false default on false

If AllowOffsettingWhenHedged=true will this override the statement from the manual "full hedge trade open turns off offsetting" or this is not related?

Does anyone have experience with both setting true/false and could advise on what works best for him and what is the best approach as Steve wrote he was not yet sure which would be the best. If it was already discussed earlier please point me to the thread I couldn't find any using the search tool.

Would exit still govern by HGI?
The reason for asking is that I "False" all HGI inputs. While it open trades, it doesn't "close the position when the dot changes colour again"

I was using DottyBot but have lost the original EA few weeks ago.

Hello, this is from AUDUSD today..
It entered a buy with the Green Arrow.
It didn't close with the Yellow Wave and Blue Wave.

Is it because the signal wasn't there when HGInD read the buffer?

Everything is good with HBGnD. I've been setting hard stop loss to prevent DD from unable to close by EA.
