Glad you found it useful! Btw someone said earlier that its written for use with EAs - I don't know if there's any thought of using it here, but I've seen other EAs on this site using that indi in absolutely the worst possible way, by calling it continually using iCustom(). That results in massive processing time & a memory blowout. The best way would be to have a chart window open for each pair the EA is trading with the indicator loaded, then the EA just needs to read the global variables - but obviously that means the EA would need the user to set it up correctly else it wouldn't work.

Anyway, sorry for going off topic. Here's to hoping this EA finishes the week off on a good note :) My Cowboy IBFX demo's still going well (see sig), my Pepper account is now down 7% over 2 weeks, my Alpari is flat over 2 weeks. Would love to see an equity curve like the system in your sig there Andy...

Yes, I agree with what you are saying, like last week we were taking gold trades straight into the 200 MA, crazy.

But, I have an EA that only takes trades if we have a D1, 200' 55 or 21 EMA as support or resistance, also included in the strategy are the correct D1 Fibonacci lines, for example, to take a long, price would have to drop below one of the R lines move back up above and close, then more than 4 D1 correlated pairs +/- heading in the same direction.

They carry on down in the same direction, this is where the trader comes into play.

I also programmed the EA when we have a trade rolling and we have one of those S/R lines above/below, to alert me we are driving into one of them, do we close the trade? Then price drives straight though them.

The EA can take the trades, but the trader needs to use skill also.

you always have some good ideas MrLong. Sometimes Bob will only TP at one level I wonder if it would be worthwhile to TP a percent at each level while moving the stop as you already do?...unfortunately your last statement is too true - if you had an EA with 1/2 as much skill as Bob you would have something!

I'm using both 1.09 and 2.0 - OOTB settings with the same broker (Cowboy IBFX). And entrys doesn't math. I have started on Wed evening GMT. 1.09 is 3% up since then, 2.0 is 1% down. Any thoughts ? (both are OOTB).

I just had a number of trades close and a message saying all trades where closed. This was on 4 different pairs, is this supposed to happen this way? Or is there a setting I have missed that will turn off this?

Hi,

The difference between v1.09 and v2.00 is the useBoundry, settings, and will make a difference to the trades entered.

In v1.09, useBoundryFilter is all incorporated into 1 setting, and the calculations for that setting are based
on ADR(average daily range).

In v2.00, I split up that useBoundryFilter into 2 settings, useBoundryFilter and useMaFilter.

The useOuterFilter, is to stop the EA entering a trade if the stop price is more than 2 X ADR away from the 240 MA, for that specific pair.

The useMaFilter, is to stop the EA entering a trade if the stop price is less than ADR X 0.25 away from the 240 MA, for that specific pair.

Both filters can be changed by the user.

How do you change the stop loss value per trade. Is this value set automatically by the EA?
Sometimes there is no SL value with a trade.

I noticed that after a few good winners, there comes one loss which hits the SL value and wipes out all of the winnings.

I think SL is set too close on version 1.09 and 2.0
Is there a way to disable this?

So far for me version 1.08 rsi_stoch berforms the best.

I really would like this EA to be the best and to perform exactly as per Bob's rule.

You may have been in profit and your trailing basket stop may have been hit, you can disable this setting by entering a 0 zero in the basket settings.

Hi,

The SL is set automatically by the EA at the 240ma, but you can enter a stop loss in the stop loss setting and then the stop loss will be whatever pips you set.

If no stop is entered in the trade you may have useStealth set to true.

Andy, unfortunantely no screen shot apart from the trade history.
I will wait until a trade is open on alpari - press close all open and confirm with OK for do you really want to close all trades? and report what happens - with screen shots. I like the confirmation since it is possible to press the button and get no response indicating it did not function - I do not believe I did this but suggest hang fire on further investigation until I repeat the action.

For some reason myfxbook isn't reading my Cowboy IBFX demo account anymore, so the bar in the sig below is now out of date (should be growth of 4.8%). Unfortunately the EA continued to take trades that immediately ran for the stops across all my demos. Cowboy IBFX is flat for the week, the others are well down. Pepper's balance is -15% on its starting point. Hope everyone else had better results!

I know its not a set & forget EA etc, but there's not a lot of managing you can do when trades are almost immediately in loss & never look to go into profit, other than exit them at a loss rather than let them go further to the stops - but that's taking a risk that they won't turn and run into profit. After all the stoploss is set where it is for a reason, to let the trend assert itself without noise taking you out before it does so. Hopefully next week will be better...
