I advise forward testing where I have tested UsePrevHighLowTS successfully. I don't rely on the tester for anything but determining whether an EA is completely defunct.

I do a lot of forward testing, but I was just curious, since all the other functions seem to be working fine in the tester.

I recently ran across a somewhat organized list of what doesn't work in the tester:http://articles.mql4.com/72. Apparently MarketInfo, which UsePrevHighLowTS uses, is on the list (bullet #15).

I thought PrevHighLowSL only kicked in after BE, so the only way a trade could hit a stop is if it retraced before setting BE

You might be thinking of PrevHighLowTS.

I should go back to bold typing "SL" and "TS" for proper emphasis.

Don't be too 'd. The tester is not compatible with all mql4 code. For a start in figuring out what works in the tester, and what doesn't, see the earlier discussion regarding MarketInfo.

As I mentioned via PM, the risk based features are someone else's code and detailed descriptions can be found at the bottom of page 13, here: http://www.molanis.com/images/stories/m ... _Guide.pdf. To paraphrase, UseMaximumPercentageatRisk limits your lot size based on your equity (percentage). UseRiskRatio adjusts your stoploss based on your takeprofit (ratio).

You seem to be trying to adjust your lotsize based on your stoploss. This is not, and most likely will not be, an option. You might try your hand at altering the UseMaximumPercentageatRisk code to suit your individual pupose. Alternatively, you could turn all the stops in the EA off and use Steve's MPTM EA (or something similar) to manage your open trades.

On a related note, my Cowboy IBFX-US demo has been acting up at weekly Open--dropping connection frequently generating tons of Journal errors. As standard weekly procedure, they open trading an hour late, close trading an hour early, and block trading for 3 minutes between daily sessions.

Before we get into results, just know that I've not gone live yet--my results are all based on an Cowboy IBFX-US demo account. I have, in effect, been trading fxozgirl's early settings since the release of v1t on December 31st. fxozgirl's early settings are simply the default settings in v1z.

Since December 31st, The8 has closed 521 pips of profit. Right now, drawdown is as high as it's ever been at -149 pips. I'm trading 28 pairs--by exclusion, not the CZK, MXN, or PLN pairs.

v1z's PrevHighLowSL recently closed CHFJPY sell at -73 pips, and AUDJPY sell at -76 pips. Considering this along with my current DD, I'm giving back a large percentage of my profit. The real issue, as I see it, is that on 2 or 3 occasions I lost 100 to 200 pips of floating profit.

On dynel14's advice, I added EMAExits but I haven't tested them. I suspect they may be the cure for the floating profit issue. Note that EMAExits use the current EMA values which bounce around until the currently forming bar closes. Keep this in mind if you decide to visually check EMAExits.
