Hello, First I appreciate all the hard work that everyone has put in. Better and more serious place compared to FF.

I am new to EA's so here comes my dumb question:

What are magic numbers and why are they used?

A magic number is used by an EA so that it know which trades it 'owns'.

Imagine your ea has a magic number of 45 (there will always be an input that allows you to specify the number). It will know that any trade that is not of the same chart symbol and magic number is nothing to do with and, and will leave it alone.

You cannot send a magic number with a manual trade, so manual trades automatically have a magic number of 0.

Thankyou for the clarification. So lets say I also want my EA to handle manual trades as well or all trades, then I will set the magic number to 0?

For some reason, I cannot manage to get the settings right for APTM to automatically set a fixed TP and SL for each trade that is opened. eg. 15 pip sl and 20 pip TP.

I do not want to use ATR. I have disabled ATR in the settings but it still doesnt work. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Here is the setfile doing this, you had SL/TP in USD(or Accountcurrency) activated not in pips..
APTMfixSLTPpips.set

Tried looking at the settings, but I dont see if there is any limit or something. I am using Gertje's Set File.

Am I missing something? Am I on the right version?

I'm no expert here but do you have current trades open?

It seems that maybe in the EA settings it is set to a limit of trades open and that there are possibility of other trades to be open but it will not let you because you have reached your max number of trades allowed.

Maybe someone else will confirm.

This is a broker problem, your broker has a max. limit to orders , change your broker, try a GlobalPrime Demo at exp.
