I opened positions at market when the ADX colour changed or when one of the other three changed at candle opening to make the set of four.
No reason for market trade instead of buy stop except that I was busy on the telephone at the same time......

I shall set up Steve's 'Goosey' this weekend and put your trade manager on the manual trading account for next week.

There are a number of great things about this method. One of them is that it offers the opportunity to scalp for a few minutes at a time. Wait for the new candles to form; flip through the charts; take the appropriate trades and let the trade manager set sl and tp. Brilliant. :clap: :clap: :clap:

Couldn't agree more. I have noticed on the M15 that a candle that starts to retrace after reaching BE retraces to this point more often than not. Snaffle the profits whilst they are available - we do not go short of trades.

You guys might even consider using Goosey as a semi-auto trader. Let her take the trades but then monitor them for closure yourselves. It is a thought.

Hi Steve and guys,

Steve may I ask for help?
Without making me deal with dulled idiot?! ;)
Would aim to be to post the preset of your EA allowing to take trades following the strategy V3;
pending order buy / sell stop on the top / bottom of the previous candle.

And nothing else. The continuation that must be manually taken care by the trader.

An alarm indicating the implementation of a pending order would be also welcome.

I have an update to upload later, with added closure options. I will add the option to send pending trades only; at the moment it will only send pendings if the Stochastic element of DSS is overbought/sold. Every thing else can be disabled and so the EA will only send the trade.

Hello and thank you for the system.

I've placed it on a couple of charts and I have a question regarding the attached chart, what do you when the ADX is only grey for a short period of time? Do you exit the trade? Do you filter it some how? Most of my charts look similar to this one, a trade that went well but ended up on the wrong side or at BE, with not enough pips to trigger the TP or trade manager.
(I thought the EA might filter it somehow so I tried it, as well, but the EA opens and nearly immediately closes trades)

Hi,
When ADX is grey only a very short time you can either go out of your trade, close it, exit, or move your stop loss pips 3 /4 above / below the previous candle.
This strategy is not the Holy Grail ;)
I work on a complementary(additional) filter but I do not wish to publish any more on a forum. In the future it will be only in deprived mode with some friends who really participate, really bring one more.

And yes I have also some problem with Steve's EA. Dont work very well. May be Steve will work on it ...

Hi All,

Thanks to celte83 and Steve for their efforts.

I run the risk of having my head lopped off or labelled "top noob" but cannot locate the indies,templates, pdf etc referred to in beginning. . Looked through the Goosey thread as well. Just wanted to get a handle on trading manually before taking the EA step. In particular the ADX indie. A link will suffice.

Steve made referance to it here in the Goosey thread:-
