Multi Currency MTF MA Dashboard

I have been quiet on this thread until now, in order for George to run it, but I think that a little explanation on how these signals are generated is required.

Important parameters to consider are:

MaCalcMethod: MA Single Line / MA Cross Over
LookBackMinutes: 240 (default)

For each timeframe, the indicator converts LookBackMinutes to candles (basically: nBars = (LookBackMinutes / timeFrame) + 1).

For the "Ma Single Line" calculation method, it only ever uses the Slow MA, with its specified Slow MA settings. It looks back nBars, and checks the direction of the Slow MA, nBars ago, (basically by comparing SlowMA[nBars] with SlowMA[nBars-1]). Subsequentlty, it iterates over the more recent bars, to see if there was a change of direction. If so, the arrow/signal generated will be the last (most recent) direction of the Slow MA. If there was no change of direction since bar=nBars, (in other words, the Slow MA has either been going up or going down for the last nBars), the signal is considered stale and no arrow will be generated.

For the "Ma Cross" calculation method, it uses both the Slow MA and Fast MA, with their specified settings. The calculation of the arrows follows the same pattern as for the "MA Single Line" method, except it now compares the relative position of the Slow MA with the Fast MA. So, it first looks back nBars, and checks the relative position of SlowMA[nBars] with FastMA[nBars]. Then, it iterates over the the more recent bars, to see if there was a cross of the SlowMA and the FastMA. If so, the last of such crosses, determines the arrow generated: i.e. if in the last (more recent) cross FastMA > SlowMA: arrow is UP, and if FastMA < SlowMA: arrow is DOWN. If there was no cross in the last nBars, the signal is stale.

Filters
There are two filters that can be optionally switched on: the CSSDiff-filter and the MA-Filter.

Parameters for the CSSDiff-filter:

UseCSSDiffFilter: true / false
CSSDiffLimit: 0.2

The way the CSSDiffFilter works, (if it was switched on using UseCSSDiffFilter), is by checking if the earlier generated arrow (using either the "MA Single Line" or the "MA Cross" calculation method, as described above), is confirmed by the CSSDiff-rule on the next higher timeframe. So, eg, for AUDUSD, M5 an UP-arrow was generated. The next higher timeframe of M5 is M15. If the CSSDiff( AUDUSD, M15 ) > CSSDiffLimit, the UP-arrow is confirmed by the CSSDiff-rule. Otherwise, the UP-arrow will be removed. Likewise, if there was a DOWN-arrow for AUDUSD on M5, we need the CSSDiff( AUDUSD, M15 ) < - CSSDiffLimit. By switching on the CSSDiff-Filter, you only ever get fewer arrows, not more. For those who don't know what the CSSDiff means or how to calculate it, look at Baluda's LibCSS thread

Parameters for the MA-Filter:

UseMAFilter: true / false
FilterMAPeriod: 50
FilterMAMethod: Simple
FilterMAAppliedPrice: Close price

The MA-Filter, (if it was switched on using UseMAFilter), is checking if the earlier generated arrow (by the "MA Single Line" or the "MA Cross" calculation method, and subsequently optionally filtered by the CSSDiff-filter), is confirmed by the direction of the FilterMA on the next higher timeframe. Eg. again, for AUDUSD, M5 there is an UP-arrow, and this UP-arrow has already passed the CSSDiff-filter test. The next higher timeframe of M5 is M15. Only if the direction of the FilterMA on timeFrame M15, (calculated with FilterMAPeriod, FilterMAMethod and FilterMAAppliedPrice) on the current bar (bar=0), is also UP, the UP-arrow will pass the MA-Filter test. Similarly to the CSSDiff-Filter, the MA-Filter only ever removes arrows. So, if you have both filters on, you will get very few arrows indeed.

Hopefully, this answers some of the questions.

Renee thanks for a superb job and thanks for the explaination of the filters. This is what I needed. If there is a chance to do a smaller footprint by decreasing the font would help a lot. Also choosing the groups like in the former dash would be nice. Thanks again for your effort!!
