Results as and EOD 7th Sept (Green arrow indicates better than previous day result, red indicates worse than previous day result) No hedge config - This had 100% win rate yesterday reflected in all measures being better than day before. Hedge config - This lost a little due to a couple of trades moving very swiftly to SL - to be expected Finally, I realised yesterday I was omitting a wide number of traders by not testing MM crims. I have therefore initiated such a test and as you would expect the setfiles need modification from ECN configurations because cost of business is primarily the spread (with occasional swap). Initial results are encouraging will post when I have more substantial data to go on. Charles |

Results for period 01 September to 09 September 2016 (inclusive) Notes: As part of my analysis I check all variables that diminish profitability. This week I have taken EURUSD, USDCHF and CADCHF out of the traded pairs for the Hedge config. These were consistently the biggest losers this week. Next week I will also start reporting on results for MM (spread only) brokers =======================================================================> Daily amended Averages Green circle = better result than previous day, Red circle = worse result. No hedge Averages - 3rd straight day of 100% win rate reflected in the better average figures. Fixed commission rate ECN broker Hedge Averages - a small loss. :youknow: Variable commission rate ECN broker =======================================================================> Detail Spreadsheets for both configurations - each numbered sheet represents the date of the month. Results as at EOD 12 Sept 2016 No hedge config - two reverses helped to lose pips for this config and drove the measures down. One of these was USDCHF which I took off hedge config at end of last week Hedge config - brilliant day As of today I will start reporting on the MM broker. This crim charges spread only, no commission applies. This config is not hedged. Charles |

Results as at 13 Sept 2016 Notes ; For the purists - I introduced H1 into the mix yesterday and this has somewhat adulterated the results until I find the sweetspot setfile for that TF. Having said that any imperfection is replicated across all test beds so there is no "false" advantage or disadvantage for any TF results and to that extent the they retain validity. No hedge ECN fixed commission broker. The H1 TF is capable of delivering better than fractional pips. This resulted in the vastly superior performance that has made pips per trade positive. Hedged ECN variable commission broker. This test bed did not trigger any H1 trades This test bed was producing too many (poor quality) M5 and H1 trades resulting in the losses. The entry requirements for these have now been tightened up. Charles |

Results as at EOD 14 Sept Notes : 1) The No hedge configuration on ECN lost one H1 trade which contributed to the total loss for the config for the day meaning the other TF's were winners. I will post individual TF results at EOW. 2) The hedged configuration came out even for the day 3) The no hedge config on MM like the ECN cousin lost one H1 trade that contributed all of the loss for the test bed. Changes : 1) We are now losing a only a few fractional pips per trade on average with most TF's and configs. I will therefore start to raise the bar for BE and other exits by small fractional amounts until we hit the sweetspot generating positive pips per trade. 2) I have installed all test beds on a Ramdisk (linux) and switched the terminals to core 1 (affinity switch) - This seems to improve the ability of PoM and MPTM to enter and exit trades faster than before. This is critical as the moves being targeted are typically also fast and short lived. No hedge config. ECN fixed rate broker Hedge config. ECN variable rate broker No hedge config. Looking at potentailly using POM for a strategy I am working on. Great work guys!!! Maybe I am doing something wrong - or maybe it is because I live Down Under I am getting incorrect readings for the Elapsed Time %. I have tried on Global Prime and another broker with the same readings. What should I check? |

Results as at 19 Sept 2016 Apologies no posts at back end of last week - I messed up the setfiles trying to be clever and Mr Market reminded me I wasn't Note I am posting cumulative average results from start of month and not individual daily results Observation - Prices often form the opposite wick on the candle and then go on to their destination - i.e a bull candle will form the low wick first, before going on to form the hi wick and close higher. A bear candle will form the hi wick and then go on to close lower. - Is there a message in this ? No hedge configuration. Fixed commission rate ECN broker - Winning day No hedge config. MM crim - Losing day (It is proving difficult to locate the sweet zone for the different TF's as the bid and ask prices move to a noticeably different rhythm then ECN prices. Why ? Trying to figure that out |

Results as at EOD 21st Sept Having tested PoM extensively, I point out the following observations and conclusions as I prepare to wrap up the test cycle. 1) As a no hedge configuration, PoM has and can deliver modest returns per 0.01 lot trade based on the TF traded. I have tested PoM on M5 thru H1 and I will reveal later this month which TF produced best results. Modest is not bad and on the upside the DD is well within any traders' comfort zone. 2) PoM has hedge functionality which in very volatile markets works by winning both the original and hedge trades. However, the level of volatility required to trade a candle, hedge it and win both sides is too unpredictable and hence this option is not recommended on the current setfiles. 3) PoM thrives in a volatile market as determined for BOTH the general market and the traded pair(s). If the market is flat as indicated by PoM values - switch the EA off and go golfing, fishing, jogging or whatever else you like doing instead. 4) PoM works with ECN brokers - the jury is still out for MM crims, but my tests so far are clear - stick with ECN's 5) PoM has a very high directional price movement accuracy. The problem is and has always been exploiting that directional bias for magnitude of move and therefore extraction of pips. Those astute enough amongst you will immediately see the potential of this accuracy in another field of trading - Binary Options, where the only thing that matters is direction and NOT magnitude of move Nuff said - I will not post the results for the hedged config or the MM crim because these continue to lose. So results are for the fixed rate ECN broker with a no hedge config. (BTW I have also switched hedging off on the variable rate ECN broker to ensure it is the no hedge config that is producing results and not some quirk of the broker I am testing on.) The black pips / trade figures indicate that on average over the month this setfile config is now producing positive results. Charles |
