Great EA! I think the CSS Super is the indicator to focus on. I agree with you about closing the big losers, if we just hedge it, possibly a larger lot, that will keep the auto basket intact. The closing of big losers is good on a multi basket with individual TPs & SLs like B 'n G. Keep up the good work!

Hi Geko

My first post on SHF; being my thanks and credit where its due for your contribution to this amazing trading tool.

Having read your last posts, just a few ideas for your consideration that might help the way towards development of basket and individual trading modes.

1. Add a ‘max_currency_exposure’ setting. A global setting, being a factor of the current active trade setting (either fixed lot size or % balance).

E.g. a value of ‘2’ sets a max of 2 open trades on any single currency, or in other words a 2% max exposure on that currency when ‘% at risk’ = 1%

Rationale; This would meet a requirement to control exposure, can be left at ‘0’ (no limit) for the true basket traders and could be used to protect against surprise news events on a certain currency.

2. Set a ‘max_global_exposure’ limit. This is a factor of the active trade setting either fixed lot size or % balance. Essentially it sets a maximum number of open trades.

E.g. a value of ‘4’ sets a max of 4 open trades across the whole market, or in other words a 4% max exposure when ‘% at risk’ per trade = 1%

Rationale; This allows a ‘0’ (no limit) setting for the whole basket and a way to control total exposure.

3. Allow hibernate at a currency pair level – disable pair on dashboard, for a manual risk exposure control for say, leading up to news events that may affect certain pairs, that we may wish to avoid.

You already thought of this and I can’t think of anything other than your individual on/off buttons, exposed by a switch in the setup.

4. An option to exit individual trades based on % TP factor. E.g. a value of ‘3’ sets TP=3x calculated SL.

For what it’s worth, I have just a few days testing using W1/D1/H4 TFs. I’m quite keen on the CSS concept although I think it may be more suited to smaller TF’s. Sadly, I’m not able to take advantage of that at present. My results are mixed; early success followed by failure around the GBP activity late last week. I also observed a period of rapid opening and closing which the new logging may help me to understand a little more. Other than that, it’s very early days for me to offer anything more useful, but I will come back with anything I think worth sharing here.

Thanks again, great work.

I've been using the dashboard manually. I found that the odds of trades winning went up when I got a green or red signal and the diffs for all three time periods were positive or negative respectively. I'm using H1/H4/D1. I ended the week over +500 pips so this is a great result. Great work.

Hi guys,

As said in previous post, I still have a lot of work to do in the next days to finish to recode the main tool that I am using for manual trading. It should take me a big part of the week. I won’t have much time to improve the DB during this time, but if you find some bugs just report them in this thread and off course I will fix them asap.

As requested by PMs by some of you, here is a quick update of the CSS DB EA with time filter included.

@ ParFour, Many thanks for your inputs, for a first post, what a great post. :good: Some great ideas, I don’t have time to prepare a full reply right now, but you can expect one in the next days once I am done with my project.

Just a really quick and dirty reply as I have 10 minutes before to run out:

1 – Easy to code in terms of number of trades per currency. Per exposure, it would just mean number of trades per currency multiplied by % at risk used per trade. I have to think at it but doable.

Such a feature would definitely help to control exposure on a particular currency, I think this option would help with an individual trades trading approach.

But when trading a basket, it would slow down the basket, more time needed to reach % closure.

2 – Same approach and almost same answer than above. Doable.

3 – A button just after each pair label with an “On/Off” option should do it. Another idea could be to place 8 buttons with each currency at the bottom of the dashboard with an “On/off “option as well.

4 – Will add this option in next release. Considering OOTB settings at the moment, it would mean: TP = SL * 3 while SL = ATR H4, period 20, multiplier 1.

Time filter was added in this latest release, what about a session filter in a feature release? Only allow those currencies…

Cheers,
G

Thanks Geko.

For session filtering, I think you have it covered already don't you, as it seems a fairly simple thing just to define the sessions within the time filtering? No point making unnecessary work for yourself!

Ah, session filtering - allow trades on certain currencies per session, got it now!
