I have managed to get the auto startup working but I use /portable setups via Dropbox and not the usual appdata/roaming Metaquotes setup.

The Windows command file that is generated needs

start /D "C:\Users\user\Dropbox\My System\MT3\" /MIN terminal.exe /portable
but this is what is generated in the script file

start /D "C:\Users\user\Dropbox\My System\MT3\" /MIN terminal.exe
and I am unable to edit and save it as access is denied to the file, any ideas how to solve this?

Tried that already no luck. I think the only answer is to edit the generated file, but cannot save it I even tried changing the file permissions under the security settings in Windows.

Ok solved the startup problem for anyone using /portable setups with Dropbox or any other online folder. Also works with non portable setups but obviously take out the /portable.

Create a batch file (save text file as startup.bat) with your path(s)

start /D "C:\Users\user\Dropbox\My System\MT2\" /MIN terminal.exe /portable
TIMEOUT 5
start /D "C:\Users\user\Dropbox\My System\MT1\" /MIN terminal.exe /portable
TIMEOUT 5
start /D "C:\Users\user\Dropbox\My System\MT5\" /MIN terminal.exe /portable
TIMEOUT 60
exit
Run a batch file at boot in Windows 98, XP, NT, 2000, Vista, and 7
  • Create a shortcut to the batch file.
    Once the shortcut has been created, right-click the file and select Cut.
    Click Start, then Programs or All Programs. Find the Startup folder and right-click that folder, then select Open.
    Once the Startup folder has been opened, click Edit in the menu bar, then Paste to paste the shortcut into the startup folder. If you do not see the menu bar, press the Alt key to make the menu bar visible.
Any shortcuts in the Startup folder will automatically run each time the user logs in to Windows.

Just had a problem with my server.
Contacted Eaymon and he fixed it in less than 30 mins. That's how long the big more expensive companies take to respond to a support request.
