Version 1F applied to my charts.

For testing purpose, I manually closed some trades to see if the EA re-open just after and yes it does.
So don't be surprised seeing strange things on the myfxbook tracking :P

verb wrote:Hi Steve, here is my full post on trend trade types. I have made some improvements to more closely follow what NB has mentioned in the booklets regarding selling rallies in DT and buying dips in UT. I have no change to the daily trade type but have 2 trades types for H4. As follows...

H4 Charts – Basic Trade
Long Bias
D1 TMA Slope 1.4B is >= 0.4
H4 TMA Slope 1.4B is >= 0.4
H4 Weekly Open Histogram 2x1 is > 0 dark-green
Price is above monthly pivot and weekly pivot
Long Trade Entry after these conditions are met:
There is a cross upwards of either the 5 MA shift 1 line or the weekly pivot

H4 Charts – A Trade
Long Bias
D1 TMA Slope 1.4B is >= 0.4
H4 TMA Slope 1.4B is >= 0.4
H4 Weekly Open Histogram 1x0 is < 0 orange-red
H4 Weekly Open Histogram 2x1 is > 0 dark-green
Price is above monthly pivot and weekly pivot
Long Trade Entry after these conditions are met:
There is a cross upwards of either the 5 MA shift 1 line or the weekly pivot
Thanks verb. I leave just the buys in the quote for simplicity.

When the EA triggers an H4 trade:
  • - no open D1 or H4 trend trades: either Basic or A trades can be taken?
    - there is one or more D1/H4 trend trades open: further trades can only be triggered if the 1x2 is orange-red, (plus all the other thingies). The fall in the 1x2 is what shows the EA that there has been a dip, and it is now time to buy back into the trend?
If you would kindly confirm/deny this, I shall make the required changes. In a way, it does not matter for now as NB can only take one trade at a time, but I will address multiple-trades soon.

Hey Alex,
i was checking your stats, read your post and tried the same (closing a winning pair) with a marvelous EURJPY trade i had. closed it, but 1F did'nt open it again. Looking back at the 5TF, pair is reporting 'ranging', even though the DAILY is showing a sell.
blimey, the bliksem just opened a sell as i was preparing this post, so it took a few minutes, and then took the same position as before too.
good to know.

Sure thing.

- Multiple trades can be allowed in this method. So Basic and A Trades can be taken.
- If we already have a trade open on the H4, further trades can be taken when the 1x0 dips AND if the TMA Slope 1.4b is >= 0.8. Although we still want to wait for the cross upwards of the 5 MA Shift 1.

If you would make an option to allow basic trades, A trades or both, that would be best.

Thanks Steve!

Thanks verb.

I am not yet ready to get into multiple trades. When I am, I shall need the info you have provided but will not necessarily remember it. So, I have linked your original post in my post, then ruthlessly used my power as a PCA to edit it into a form that will mean something to me when I come to add multiple trading capacity.

I hope you do not mind; this is in a good purpose.

Ok no problem. One thing I want to emphasize is that we don't place additional orders unless the TMA Slope 1.4b >= 0.8 for buys, vice versa for sell.

Thanks

Thanks again. I have noted this in your post for me to refer to later.

Hehe. Your post could turn out to be one of the most valuable ever uploaded here.
