Quick question please on TG's MPTM settings ( sorry, I know there's an MPTM thread, but I honestly think I'll get an answer faster here ).
BreakEvenPips=20
BreakEvenProfit=10
PipsAwayFromVisualBE=100
=> Does this mean that when the trade is at BE+10 pips, the real stop loss is at -90 pips?
JumpingStopPips=30
PipsAwayFromVisualJS=100
=> Does this mean that (after BE) when the trade is +60pips (and visual SL at +30pips), that the real SL is at -70pips?

PS: I've read the MPTM manual many times over, but the PipsAwayFromVisual params never quite seem to make sense, esp like in this scenario where BE and JS are both using it. Please help. Thanks again

Hi Dude,
from my understanding, if you have the visual thingy turned to 'true' it will display on the chart but has nothing to do with the trade itself. Steve likes to mess around with the crims incase they are watching, :twisted:

There is proof that they can manipulate positions, so this is a feature he likes to throw them off what you're really trying to do with your SL's and TP's and JS's. This only shows on chart if turned to true.

I hope someone can correct me if my story here is wrong.

Actually i was using the set for MPTM from page 2, but MPTP EA crashed and after that i managed positions manually. I managed them manually while checking if the MPTP was responsible for different results from forward testing accounts and when i concluded that i dont have enough evidence for suspicion i reactivated MPTM.

Thanks for the feedback cuz, much appreciated!

From the manual, it appears the Visual params actually have an effect on the real stop loss.

E.g:
JS = 400
PipsAwayFromVisualJS = 200

=> From the manual, this should mean that the real stop loss is 200 pips, but the br0ker will see a stop loss of 400 pips

The reason I'm asking all this is I'm trying to figure out how much leeway (stoploss-wise) your set file gives TG (esp given the great results).

spot on, this is what has limited many big advances and as you know, all pairs have different volaitility, so watch that setting pair by pair, my page 2 settings are general and i cant remember what pair it ook it from, sorry.

What i like about TG also, is that if a position is taken out too early by the JS, it will open it again if the situation still merits the position. Typically, it happened to the winning demo with USDCHF. It was in huge DD last week and in the latter part of the week, it came back strong. Then got stopped JS'ed out for a mere $100 odd. Considering it was around $2000 in the crapper, i was a little disappointed , but TG opened the position again. Currently losing, but i think its a sign of trends to come. The demo still hasnt lost a position.

On the losing demos, i've started to play with the Pivots, as i cant see any other reason why the positions get closed out, so i've changed the daily pivot available in the params and also made sure the weekly and monthly are 'false' in the code, (not seen by the params, they are intern variables.)

SO far i got buys, :) , but lets not get too excited until we see another week or two of results. WIll keep trying to find whats causing those very early closures and subsequent losses on the losing demos. There must be a reason.!! I will refer back to you once this is sorted to see what you find is best for JS distance for pairs. keep in mind the crims vary with spreads so one should mention the spread your crim offers so we can add/subtract that difference from our settings individually to suit our crims we use.

It's great that TG re-enters the position when the signal is still valid, definitely a +

I've just set up the following MPTM profiles on AxiTrader for 3 TG groups (6 pairs each, same as yours):

1) Instant TS of 30pips
2) BE@25 pips, BEP:+5 pips, then normal TS of 30pips
3) BE@25 pips, BEP:+5 pips, JS: +30pips

After a month, I'll see which works best and continue using that.

I'm following on fxbook but please post back what your thoughts are after you've run this for a month as you post. I'm very curious to see how this approach works.

My initial thoughts are you might get some losers from the instant trail and TG sometimes go's in the wrong direction straight away, or soon after opening.

BE is very close and you might find the majority of positions close at this point, but nice to see you are testing between TS and JS. Something i never tried after dropping TS altogether. Please just make sure you have no SL or TP's anywhere. This should be very interesting.

5K in deposit might be a little low for the amount of charts, but at least its a realistic amount. Lets see.

Are people still able to get this EA to trade in both directions....?

I have it running on three brokers, but cant get it to trade short...

I have also been running it substantially Strategy Tester and also cannot get it to go short..!

If there are people trading it both ways, could you please detail you configuration and maybe also your set files....as this thing is starting to do my head in....

Has anybody noticed the the EA seems to check the trades when Metatraded is started....So if the condition exists to close a trade due to the Super trend flip, it will....not sure if this is by design...!
