Short audusd, the EA exited the trade at -21pips (without waiting for SL)....I found that exit rather strange(see the attached).

Long usdcad...hanging to this one!

My broker is FXCM.
Read the thread and manual- from page 64 of this thread: "Closed due to the 'spotdespot 2 bar filter'. -19 pips."

Your trade opened at close of 00:00 bar. Next two bars were against the trade so position closed. That was according to plan. With the stack MA settings on it takes few trades but they have a higher probability of taking off smoothly with no retracement. This filter is designed to close the trade on a sign of weakness. ( not always right but often enough)

As I understand BASA is designed to be conservative. It preserves capital and only takes good clean trades. It is meant to be a low frequency trader. The expected result from the programmed trade plan (gleaned from the thread and manual) are: occasional small losses like this one, occasional larger 100 pip losses (because they can't be completely avoided) like we had earlier this week, a few trades that close half and breakeven to partly offset the small losses ( I had one of those today) and infrequent but massive 300 pip 4 stacked trade winners. Probably less than 1 in 10 will be the big winners and they come in baskets of winners when the markets take off and run as they will eventually. It is designed to be a "wise old winning traders " EA not a gambling addicts "got to have a winning trade fix every day" EA. Will it generate 80% a year- perhaps. Will it generate a smooth 5% a month - probably not. But I think it will win in the long run and those who learn to run it conservatively and accept the results will be pleased

Since the latest version came out we have been seeing how BASA deals with adverse markets more than anything else. The bot seems to be following the intended plan without bugs it appears to be a stable release so far- a good sign.

You've summed it up perfectly FXTrucker...thanks for taking the time to post :)

Anybody here still not using iHistory yet? I have attached it to post one.

Here are my Cowboy IBFX live account results for the last month.
audcadmm15.png
The first week or so were on the H4 chart, then I switched to the H1.

Ignore the size of the loss in the Loss column. That is vastly inflated because I bumped up the lot size in time for that day when we all too a bit of a bath.

The thing to look at is the number of pips in the NetPips column. Results last week took the equity on the account back up to its pre bath-day level - and I had taken the lot size down to a much lower level. Had I had the guts to retain the bumped-up lot size, last week would have been vast. Anyhow, nearly 300 pips a week is not to be sneezed at.

In comparison, my GP H4 account continued to lose last week - not much but certainly no recovery of the losses from bath day.

Early days, but I am beginning to think that the H1 traders have the right idea. We shall see.

Perhaps I switch to 1hr as well...just to see...by the way, any changes to any parameter when you change to 1hr?

And here's mine from last week (Global Prime demo). In the SHF spirit of inveterate tinkering I modified the parameters considerably, using 200 and 55 EMAs set to H1.

SL, TP, BE and JS set manually per pair according to volatility. Seems to have made bugger-all difference to the result, though  - still around 300 pips in the week.

I wouldn't be so sure about that - here's my GP demo for last week for H1......Houston.....I have a problem :?

No changes made from the H4 setup......mmmm......going to have to do some head scratching.

Yes - I just assumed it was a bad week, move on. But seeing your results for the same broker and Steve's for Cowboy IBFX the clearly it shouldn't have been that bad! :o

I have looked at all the trades for the week. Some just went straight against me and others would have made it to BE had I used some volatility based BE points. I've changed those now for each pair and we'll see how it goes.

Cheers,
Dave.
