beautiful cars indeed Bob, pity the company didn't survive for long. Interesting to read that Ford lost $350 million dollars back in 1959 with Edsel, the equivalent of $2.7 billion in today's money!!

looking at your chart pg, the price was under the 240, and the red bar was showing red, so only sell trades, and bob was saying in a ranging market just use the one hour chart, and the stoch

OK the markets wait for USA Congress to make some choices. If deadlock continues I expect the Dollar to decline but if a deal is made it will probably make a good size jump up. AUD,NZD are moving into UT territory again so I would expect JPY to weaken however, this is probably going to be a very news driven week. The pound took a pounding at the end of the week with some of its pairs going straight from UT to DT in some pretty good dives. I have no idea how the EURO currencies will react to USA news but we will see.

Any surprises in the next 12 hours will cause some nasty gaps Monday so watch out for those. I hate news driven weeks.

I don't know Bob. Boehner and his hard core Republicans are pretty dug in. There is no way I can see that he will "cave" and allow a simple up/down vote on a clean spending Bill. At the moment, most the of the focus is on the debt ceiling.

And so I don't think there will be much news about the government opening this week.

The Dems already have enough votes from Republican crossovers to carry the vote in the house. It is that Bonehead has the power to determine which bills get to come up for a vote. When he relents and lets it on the floor then it will pass. The other strategy the Dems are going to try is there are bills already on the floor for debate. They attach the CR as an amendment to one of those bills and by pass Boehner. I believe they are going to get around this one soon or it will be incorporated in a bigger bill. The real issue though is the debt ceiling. Thats the one that can cause all sorts of havoc if they cant get a deal done by mid Oct. Then we start defaulting on our obligations. How they handle who gets paid and who doesnt will be interesting. You have to remember income is always coming in every day, it is that we spend more than what comes in. Once we cant borrow we immediately cut to a balanced budget and it will be interesting to see what is cut. That will mess up the entire world's economies.

do you place your pending before the 8am forex open, or before
the 9:30am stock exchange open?

I never understand questions like these. Why would I wait? It is like the question, do you wait for the next candle to open? A signal to trade is a signal to trade. If price is moving, why do you wait for some man made time element? The answer is NO.

What to be looking out for. When ever you see a cat fight, look for those who are not talking. An interesting case for the Republican Party is Paul Ryan. He was the VP who ran with Romney. He has been the leading architect of past Republican budgets and major proposals. Where the heck is he??? Well here are my thoughts. The Republican party is as tired of the wrangling from the Tea Party as I am sure the Dems are. So they let them run with this no win, has no chance of succeeding shut down. What I think will happen is at the right time he will come out, with some others that may even include Conservative Democrats, a grand budget. One that the Dems will accept in principle but will fight over some details. This will do two things. It will isolate the tea party back into just its small group and the rest of Congress will move on with governing. Boehner has said many times that there will be no default. This is their ace in the hole. They will get some concessions from the Dems and they will isolate the teaparty into a fringe group. The Republicans will get control of the party again and we can get back to governing. That is what I see coming down the pipe. When this proposal is brought out you will see the markets jump. They have to wait and let the teaparty guys finish making idiots of themselves. They have absolutely no chance of getting Obama or the Dem Senate to budge on Obama Care. So that is my political commentary for today. Look out for Ryan and his crew, they are the ones that will come forward with some kind of proposal.

The key point, as you note, is whether there are any "concessions". On the shutdown or the debt limit. The Democrats are hard set against it. The Republicans want blood.

Who knows what will happen.
