The Kurds of Northern Iraq could spill over into Kurdish regions of Turkey. The different Islamic factions could spill over into Syria and Iran and the Saudis could be on opposite sides and then.................. So yeah its serious and could have major implications.

Tired of tight ranging markets, well you maybe getting your wish. Get ready for a wild ride this summer.

Got a question....how does an oil crisis (Iraq) affect forex markets ?

Cheers
There is oil in pretty much everything you buy. So trouble with oil producers causes everything to increase in price making imports for oil consumers more expensive thus devaluing the currency. Commodity prices, especially oil are leading indicators of the health of the world economy.

Good point, rocketman99.

CADJPY long is for sure the best choice to profit an Oil crisis, as CAD has become a great producer and Japan needs to import the 99% of its oil. Anyway, lets hope the situation in Iraq won´t become a civil war.

That's usually true, but the CAD seems unresponsive this time, it is down 400 pips from recent high, trending down, lot of scope for a rally, needs some more CPR or maybe a hit with the Defibrillator :)

Doesnt most CAD oil go to the USA anyway? So USA economy is the bell ringer for the CAD? I like the CAD/JPY going up analysis though.

Now here is a mouthful of a sentence:

Hello Solar Vortex - El Nino Is Coming", because as everyone knows by now, in a centrally-planned world, in which the present always disappoints and the rigged market is driven purely by the overly optimistic future forecasts for five years in a row now (despite the rosy future never, ever materializing in the form of a better than expected present), any deviation from what is "priced to perfection" has to be promptly explained away, usually with such ridiculous gimmicks as the weather, i.e. snow in the winter, hot summers, balmy springs and so on.Idiot central-planner and economist "justifications" for always being wrong aside, the reality is that El Nino is on its way even if the slowdown in the economy will be due to every other factor except the weather (start with the Fed) which just so happens is a "recurring" event. So upcoming GDP collapse (that nobody could have foreseen earlier, nobody, certainly not the Fed) notwithstanding, here is what one should really expect as a result of the unique weather formation which whose temperature and precipitation impacts across the United States occur during the cold half of the year, from October through March.

Dont you guys just love it when I find important stuff like this. I wonder if he made his total words needed for his news column today. Now go take this information and make some pips. :yahoo: :yahoo:  :yahoo:  :yahoo: :yahoo:

Trading the D1 chart using 10.9 together with TMA-lines.
Hi Gertje,

do you like to explain how you trades your system?
Rules, signals?

I think to trade the daily chart was a good Idea. But I see that the entries are a litle bit difficult.

Thanks a lot!

Sure!

It's actually very simple, and I certainly wouldn't recomment it due to the DD experienced.
I plotted the TMA on the D1 chart, and go long from the bottom-line and short from the top-line.
I enter a pending every 50pips, and TP at the opposite line or when I see fit like last week with the NZD-newsspike.

A picture tells more than 1000 words, so see attached. I plotted all trades with entry and exit to see where and what.

I have MPTM running to add BE+5 after 80pips, to decrease DD when price reverses. This way the maximum exposure is 2 trades in the negative.

Hi Gertje,

hmm, at 18.03.2014 the candle was the first time at the lower line. At 27.03.2014 the second time.
If you are long from 18.03. all trades goes into SL.

Do you use the Stoch as signal or only the TMA Lines?

If they run into BE (+5) just te-enter again on the way up.
I try to start going long/ short on the STO7, but look more at the TMA.
