jeremysprite wrote:Been having some terrible results the last 2 weeks opening at GMT midnight, setting SL to DP and TP to S/R 1/2... I'm learning (as most traders would probably know already) that JPY tends to do the opposite, then when Frankfurt/London opens it reverses.

Case in point: I gave up on the JPY open trades 2 days ago, I was down 10% of my account. Today I'm up 5% - and that was with some very poor entries. I thought the BUY EA waited for a touch/cross of the DO if the price was already above, but it just enters immediately. So I'd bought right at some of the S/R levels and so I'm quite pleased to be up after those entries.

Oh and there was another trade I missed putting a SL on that hit -65 pips before I saw it...

I might try setting Steve's EA on the charts instead of the BUY EA

Be great to see some overall results of other people from the last few weeks?
Because of daylight savings time I am teaching during the time I would normally set trades for the jpy session. So I only trade USA and JPY sessions. This week I am 20-4 aver profit 17 pips average loss 13 pips. That is 340 - 52 = 288 pips for the week. I am finding that the closer to the open I set my trades the less chance I have of trades just entering and then back up to hit the full SL. If price moves and enters it will kick up that SL into profit territory most of the time and very few will just enter and reverse to the full SL. I also use the 5.1 EA, break the trendline, more than the daily open EA, so this is giving better entrances. I think the color coding will help in determining the better trades. I also notice that some of the bigger trades are when the DO and DP lines are close together. There is more room for profit on those. Anyway 930 am and going to go bike riding for the day. I basically have two times to set trades in China. One is about 3:30PM (euro open) and the other around 9:30 PM (USA Open). I set up my EA for entrances, Steve's MPTM for SL and Profit, the jump EA and then let it run. I check two or three hours later and take my profits or decide to let it ride. I am also beginning to close trades that arent going anywhere which has led to my impressive win loss ratio but that is because if they are sitting at +2 or +5 or a small loss after a couple of hours I will just close them out. I also will shut down all my pending orders if they arent taken by the time I go to bed which is 10pm to midnight. Then when I get to the next session I can just set up and trade again.

Even though I liked Don's work, he has taken his football and gone home. His indicator uses too much RAM and I cant flip TF quickly. Baluda's you can switch TF easily. Sorry Phil I am a 4H trader at heart. :) Anyway when I get back to Nanning Axis Trader will be high on my list of investigation. If I can get hedging I will pop 500 into an account and take a swing at some of your ideas and some of mine that have been floating in my head for a while. Anyway off to breakfast.

Using Baluda's 10.3 indicator for jpy session I have the following

Teal Range BUY aud/cad,eur/usd,nzd/usa, usd/cad
Green Strong Buy aud/usd, eur/aud,eur/cad,eur/gbp,eur/nzd
Orange Range Sell aud/chf, aud/nzd, gbp/aud, gbp/cad, gbp/nzd, gbp/uzd, usd/chf
Red Strong Sell gbp/chf, nzd/chf

I will not be placing trades now I just want to compare this with what I will do at Euro open. That will be in about 5 hours. Then we can see how the 'dummy lights', remember the old cars with their red light for oil, generator, battery, etc. we called them dummy lights, are doing. I probably will do nickel trades on all of them with the MPTM and jump EA on the ones that are still valid trades then and see what happens.

Yesterday results:

24 Trades:

18 Win
06 Loss

228 Pips
3,9%

Could be better. But I was in a big buy trade as EURJPY came quickly down.

I'm certainly loving the look, feel and simplicity of "10.3 test" which is now called 10.3 test with fibs" on my rig here...eg, I have modded your template to also include the fibs indy from Babalu4u.

When I see a fib level line up very closely with a S/R line, I take that more seriously. And so as I work from the outer limits with CT stuff, I'm aiming to compliment what you are doing riding the price action out towards the Fib 3 level.

It's looking very good Bob and Baluda. VERY

Phil
Hi Dphil,
Is there a Possibility of your Goodself sharing that Template that Includes the Fibs Indy from Bablu4u please ;)

Warm Regards,

xrismak :)

How are you guys entering trades that are already past the DO during the Asian session right before EURO/London open or are you skipping them? Do you set limit orders manually near the DO? Is there another EA that will do this? I looked at the 5.1 EA but, it will enter immediately if price is on the right side (buy/sell) of it.

I attempted to use the StealthTrademanager from FF but, i found that it fights with the MPTM i am using to set the initial SL going back and forth with ordermodify's on the stop loss.

There is an EA that buys/sells on the break of the DO if that's what you're after.

I've just updated and joined my indy's/template with the MPTM and its preset.

I'm still doing the same 10.3 Level 3 Fib CT trade analysis and testing, but I am now using

1 Baluda's and Bob's new "10.3 test" indy and template (name changed to be "10.3 test with Fibs"), because

2 I have added Babalu4u's Fib indy...plus

3 the usual stuff I have like enlarged pips and spread info so that I can work from my bed.

The MPTM and its preset are what I currently use.

So now you have the most up to date and fully package of what I am using.

Hi DPhil,

Thanks, Looks and Feels Great & Wonderful ... Yeah this is the Biz. ;)
But I added the TMA true just to give me a little bit of Visuals for Confirmation.
Damn :D this thing works like Magic :)
