10.4 A Complete System

The storm sped up and passed over Nanning instead of slowing down it took off faster. It is now almost to Guangdong province and it stopped raining here around 5 PM. Lots of rain and some wind this afternoon. So instead of the center of the storm arriving tomorrow it turned directly north and then east and passed us today. So a cool adventure. 69 degrees cloudy and cool.

About the time school was out I saw a very strange thing. Our school is like in a mini-canyon with two tall buildings going down both sides of the street for the entire block. I was watching the rain when all of a sudden a mini tornado like a dust devil we see out west but this time made of rain appeared just outside our door at the school. It lasted about 5 seconds and then stopped. All the water that was in the mini funnel just dropped straight down and splashed in a circle. I wish I could have filmed it, was kind of cool. So just like that the rain started and just like that is stopped. Almost 23 hours of straight downpour and then it was over.

yep horrendous situation, any of you technical savvy chaps can help,my demo alpari platform even with no charts loaded still pushing up cpu usage, i reduced the max bars in chart settings, erased log file, still running at 50%

Notice also the 1H STO7 will also give signals. So if you are on 4H chart and you get the double green, you then go to 1H chart and you will get a STO 7 signal also when it breaks the 80 line. The STO 7 works on every TF you have your chart on. The 4H bar and 1H bar are represented no matter what TF you are on.

I am glad you are alright. I went through Hurricane Sandy and lost everything about a year back. I am just now recovering somewhat.

On a trading note, would it be safe to say since the STO7 works on all TF's that once we had double green (1hr 4hr) it would be safe to drop down to say a 5M TF and scalp in the direction of the trend on that TF with the STO 7 giving us the signal for a proportionate amount of pips? I know you dont scalp but i thought I'd ask anyways. Of course we are scalping in the direction of the trend to be safe.

I would imagine so but have never tried it. Top down trading seems to work best as far as any trading strategy I have ever seen. Once you get the main trend direction you can trade any TF or indis you personally like or are familiar with.

Hi Bob,

Could you kindly define top down trading?
Is it all about the angles (up and down) of the topmost and bottom-most currencies?
So if a topmost currency is angling down, it's to sell that currency even though it is the strongest in D1CSS?

An overly simple definition is to use the direction of a higher time frame to determine how you will trade a lower time frame. For example we use the 240 and 60 MA to determine monthly and weekly direction and then we trade the 4H or 1H chart using that direction to determine where we want to enter/exit the market.

I am thinking of opening a 10.6 thread later today. I want to spend the first page or two teaching the basics and go from there. That way I dont have to change the 10.4 booklet as much. We will see how much time I will have.
