Hi Gary. None of my trades made it all the way to TP. When I say 8 for 8, I mean to say that I had no losers. All went to at least 30 pips for a 50% close. Some retraced back to BE +2 and others went on to stack on a trade but I did not get any multiple stacks. I had a couple of baskets close in profit but after retracing to the basket SL.

I should have been more specific but it was Friday and I was at happy hour. 1/2 price doubles and 1/2 price tuna sushi. I was not really paying attention to any other math. :)

That NU trade is a strange one.

Made pips, lost money. There is a EURGBP H4 trade that went to full stop loss.

I took a closer look at that trade. Here is the pic (I have removed Andy's stacking ma's for clarity):

The two vertical yellow lines outline the trade. There are a couple of things wrong with it:
  • it is commented as a reentry trade, yet the shift 2 candle fell - not by much but still fell,so something else to glare at the code for.
  • that massive falling candle just before the trade was taken. Only a noob with zilch experience would have taken that sell. I am at a loss to explain why I did not close it. Not a clue what I was thinking.
That was a move of 111 pips in 4 hours. I popped an ATR 14 onto the chart - the reading at the time was 24. Looks like we need a filter to avoid this scenario. I suggest ATR; no trade if the previous candle moved by ATR x an_input_multiplier.

I made 500 pips on the H1 Cowboy IBFX account last week; 578 the week before. I started to claw back my GP losses as soon as I changed from H4 to H1. I am convinced.

Attached is a template that converts the moving averages to their H1 equivalents, so you can see what the H1 charts look like if you have not already tried them.

Here is that Cowboy IBFX losing NU trade that went to full sl:

The turquoise ma is the 960, yellow the 240 to equate to their H4 counterparts. I have removed Andy's stacking ma's for clarity.

This is a reentry trade, correctly taken. I would have saved about 50 pips had I closed the trade when the market retraced back inside the two ma's. Let's keep an eye on this and see if doing this with all reentry losing trades helps.

Trading manually, you'd certainly think twice about shorting there, taking into account the preceding PA. Don't know how you build that discretion into an EA though.

I have already been looking at this too...if you leave it with me, I'm 3/4 the way through analysing all live trades BASA has taken since end of August to see if an ATR filter on the Shift 1 candle would have prevented the big losses.
The other thing I'm checking is to make sure it doesn't prevent too many wins as well.

I should be finished in a day or so and I will post my analysis.

I have already coded a version with the filter. I will hang on until the results of your research to see if it is worth publishing.

Hi, I'm stopping my basket tp on the 4H chart. This is not the way to go.

Looking at the 1h basket Tp. I do see a diverint picture. (My computer was of last week thus the big jump in profit)

Ok, I've found sort of a flaw, well a few actually in iHistory v1.8.
To make a long story short use the updated version attached v1.9 and include the time also.

So if you wanted to check the history for orders that closed today use:
Start 2013.11.19 00:00
End 2013.11.19 23:59

Let me know if you see anymore issues.
