Well, of course you can already set trading hours and there is spread detection - don't know how they work with pendings though ....

It is already there in the trading hours thingy. The need to use it to avoid rollover is something I have just learned this week, so thanks to Jeremy for his reply to my query.

As currently coded, they don't. Once a pending is sent it is sent. Might be something to think about in the future.

Close your platform during rollover, especially when RBNZ has news releases during rollover. Don't ask how I know. Won't help with pending orders, I was thinking those were held on my end and not sent until the entry trigger was hit.

I would say this is pretty fundamental to the reason that most shorter TF EAs fail when set to 24 hour trading.

there would be the possibility to use "hidden" pendings like I use in --> http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... f=5&t=3946 this can be combinated with the spread filter and avoid filling pendings when spread is to high..

'tis indeed a thought and a worthy one. Without thinking too deeply about this, it looks on the face of it as though this would require some major rewriting of initially simple trade-sending code, so we will talk about this by pm.

Whenever we see a suspicious spike we check other Aussie brokers Empty4 feeds to see if it's the same there, if it is then it's likely a real market movement. In this case it was on the other brokers so it was a real market move.

Some brokers have a max spread setting to make it seem like their max spread doesn't go above X pips, with us we keep everything as is apart from a 150 pip spread filter which stops the pricing if the spread is above 150 pips as something may be wrong. We are then alerted and go check what the story is.
