Some interesting results from 12th April to 26th April: For those who are interested in a more aggressive approach, I'm trialling HGBnG on: - Trading TF: H1 - ATR TF: 4HR - Filter: 34EMA - Grid Type: Stop & Limit orders.... - Global Prime Demo Note: I use 1500 per dollop because of I'm trading in AUD$. So for USD$ you could use $1000 instead. |

I will be starting 4 new demos next week, 2 using 2.5% equity close and 2 using 10% equity close. One of each with offsetting and one of each without. I did not try anything new this week with my demos and so far it has been a very slow week anyway. I am taking Paul's (Lifesys) advice and trading all week except for Sunday, and still closing all trades Friday, 9 hours before close of the trading week. I will be starting all 4 as of right now, just to make sure they are to my liking, and restarting next week. Will update next week. |

PeterUK Thanks you for the H1 preset. I had tried before H1 but never with this set up using the single EMA. It works great! This fired magnificently. It pasted right trough the lousey JPY drop of this morning. I'll attach the report with & I apologize for the spread sheet clarity, just trying to show the whole story. PS: lousy excel copy, will try to do better and reload. PSS: OK that's better. I broKe the Trend, Rad & wave trades down on page 4 to see if Rads helped or hurt, SURPRIZE !! |

traderDuke, Thanks for the results - I like your whole spreadsheet story - RAD Trades are good...  I'm planning to go live with this sometime next month using a fraction of my disposable paycheck... I was impressed with the results of just using Stop-and-Limit orders (and not being stuck in a hedge thus opening up more trading opportunities) The 34EMA helps determine the short term trend...(it's also a fib number, nature loves fibs). Like a chemical discovery, I left it running with these settings by accident when I switched to stop-orders-only and no filters for both GP and Axi Demo - I then asked myself why the GP DD was much lower than my AxiTrader Stop-only-orders demo over the past two weeks, I checked the presets, and then discovered why. With this setup there will be down days, but overall the ups days are likely to be more frequent - like normal trading you can't expect green every day! For me, being stuck in a hedge is like holding your loss a bit longer and then hoping that it'll cancel out in the long term - It locks you out of the other trading opportunities that occur in a shorter TF like H1 until that hedge is eliminated. Not good for a traders mindset and for some people taking the hit is hard... and possibly being in a hedge gives some sense of security... A couple of years ago I traded a $1600 AUD live account using 1 lot trades on FTSE CFD (micro lots weren't available then), when I discovered hedging I built a balance of around $45K AUD but was stuck in a $38K AUD Hedge, then one day I just cut my losses down to just under $7k... and started over, trading psychology played a part also, it would have taken a very long time to get out of the hedge, that was fun... 
My results for just one day, almove 4000 pips, after trading over FOMC and BOJ statements!

Peter I'm not a proponent of hedging. It eats up to much margin. I'd rather take my loss and hopefully move on to greener pastures. I will try some other H1 settings. I don't like the lack of SL and 400 seems to large to me. I thought for sure RAD was going to be a looser, it has been in the past, just go to show you. I just turned your BnG-v1w loose and its up 45 pips with 2 trades. I'll let you know what happens. Best of Luck Ray |

Just had a chance to see the offsetting in action! I had a GJ buy that got orphaned last night just before the bottom dropped out. I manually added a full grid soon after the huge drop and after seeing the orphaned buy. This sat all day today and after taking several more sells I added another grid. 5 minutes ago I checked on it and about 8 sells and that 1 nasty buy had closed for a small profit! I am now sitting on a little bit of DD but who cares, it's nothing compared to what it was earlier. Seems to me like the offsetting is working perfectly. Loving this EA! |

TraderDuke, I've been trialling the presets with the latest HGB'nG v1z, and the results for that was mentioned in my previous post, to incorporate the latest updates and any bugs since v1z that Steve has ironed out... Positive trading today so far... Yes, SL is a big huge... Haven't looked into this yet also TP may be a bit limiting to the potential profit if we let it run a bit more, I may try using MPTM to Manage TP with JT and/or partial close then let it run as a free trade etc (when I find a bit of time to set up) and possibly reduce SL down to say 200, and still give the EA some wiggle room... Overall I'll also try and keep it simple. I could say that I can now trade using HGI hands off with HGB'nG, and delegated the screen time to this EA Peter |

Hi, I have a question about buttons, sometimes when I see nice opportunity I'd like to send a full grid of orders regardless of HGI signal and I use "send full grid" button however EA send orders and delete them immediately. I know that there is an option "send a pendind grid (and remove ea from chart)" but it is not my point. My question is whether it is possible to send orders manually (with buttons) and let ea manage trades? |
