DC,
due to the limitation of Empty4 the maximum amount of buffers to draw is 8 (index 0 - 7), so no extensions beyond S3/R3 plus DP is possible within the same indicator...
I did a quick hack of babalu4u's work:
1. Split the indicator into two - one for R, one for S
2. Calculation of R4/S4 and R5/S5 are user definable line 44/45 (not an extern!), presently set to 1.618 and 2,618 respectively
3. removed the PFactor routine as it does not seem to be referenced in the calculation - should I have mis-read the code, my apologies
Thanks to NB for his great ideas, dancingphil for his insights and the original coder!
Cheers & have a great weekend

YES I looked at that and it does work however. I love Baluda's code and wonder if those calculations can be added in. I would be happy to support that in the final product. Again a true false add on.fxarun wrote:Bob,nanningbob wrote:I love the weekends for techno babble. Ok I really like Baluda's indicator. It is neat clean and runs smoothly. I have several questions and perhaps I should address them to him but:
1. What would it take to agree on a FIB formula? I always thought is was a simple High/Low of the previous day, week, month, year? and then a percentage from those two points. Pivots being the high/low/close divided by 3. Could that not be added to the existing indicator with a T/F statement for those who want to use them???
2. Don rejected the simple pivot maker I posted earlier but it simply would post pivots based on the input you put into them. The two inputs being criminal GMT time and your start time. All you had to know was what was your GMT time and your start candle time and it would adjust the pivot start to the time you wanted. Could that be added and then we would have a universal indicator that everyone could use. Some professional traders do readjust their pivots with every trading session. It just then would be teaching everyone what inputs the correct info based on their criminal and the indi would make the adjustments. This would save a tremendous amount of computer Ram. Is that doable?
What that does is give everyone, one main indicator to work from and ask questions from.
I guess I should ask Baluda about this stuff but I need to give him the standards we should be using.
I have come across an indicator which might be worth to look at it .
The link is
http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=189541
This one autocalculates the time zone and calculate the pivots according to the New York Close .
The pic attached are from different criminals with different GMT shifts yet the indicator auto calculated the pivots.
This one is having lot of functions and you can plot fibos also.
With regards,
Arun

Are not guys getting around that by using scripts as a sub code. So a person writes a script that the EA can call to and thereby increase the buffers?? I think I have seen this done or does this refer to something else?mobthehop wrote:DC,

NB, based on my limited knowledge - the 8 buffers refer to max amount of buffers used to draw output on chart - you can have more buffers that hold certain values but not for graphical output....
But I will leave this to the experienced coders on this thread - again - consider this a quick hack that helps DC in figuring out likely values for SR calculations beyond the present 3 levels
Cheers

New indicator have GMT set you can set normal pivot 3 level or fib pivots 5 levels..... I use diferent fibs...dancingphil wrote:YES, in this thread I think has been discussed Bob. I've played with Mops too separate ones, and his 1-4th level Fibs look useful (the 5th level is too far out there to be useful). I also love Baluda's and hope we do retain it in its current form, and hope that at least the the 4 fib levels can be added into one complete package.nanningbob wrote:Are not guys getting around that by using scripts as a sub code. As you mentioned,is an important function already coded elsewhere and so is easily doable. The two inputs being criminal GMT time and your start time. All you had to know was what was your GMT time and your start candle time and it would adjust the pivot start to the time you wanted.
Price in the lines is already in several of the indy's volunteered today so that snippet of code is to hand too.
Retaining Baluda's indy as it currently exists is highly desirable and functional; with these other pieces of code added as they seem a good fit.
Phil
my fibs are:
.382
.618
.8200(my value)
1.382
1.618
And a option to look history for 5 level fibs and history of normal pivots 3 levels. The indicator have also option to of yesterday High and Low, Mid levels....... very soon... also EA with a same futures
