Can you explain part 3 a bit more? For a sell, are you looking for the 4th or 5th candle to actually open above the body of the pivot candle and then close below it? It's hard to tell from your snapshot. I've attached an updated Ducks that will place a vertical line marking all the pivots points based on this understanding. Let me know how close it is to what you consider a pivot point.

Thinking about the detail you required last time; I have translated all the candle data pertaining to the pivots shown in the attached AUDUSD onto a spreadsheet.

Looking at your spreadsheet, your Long/Short designations for candles don't fit with what I would classify as Long/Short. I have attached a revised version of the spreadsheet with an additional column showing my interpretation (Open > Close = Short, Close > Open = Long).

George, sorry! Going to sound like I am splitting hairs here. :oops:

Difference is methodology! Did all my calculations based upon David's teachings: "only interested in general direction of bars on chart - up (higher highs/lows = long), down (lower highs/lows = short). Up/down/up/down = sideways - forget until 3+ same same. Look for pivot - highest high/lowest low before direction change, 3 preceding bars. Check 'pivot break' - bar open lower than pivot low/higher than pivot high, opp direction, 1-3 bars, (5+ - wait for stronger pivot)."

George, you are the boss here! Which is best for your calculations?? I remember Steve mentioning fractals re pivots. As yet, I have never used them. If Steve and you are suggesting them then they have to be as good as, or better than, my method - so 'just do it!' :roll: :D

George, great to hear from you! Hope your world has not been as crazy as mine!

I've stuck a yellow arrow, and opened the data values, for the candle I identified as the pivot. My broker (AXIS) shows this as 27th. The next candle on my chart is the 30th.

Please find Ducks_M5 template attached. I have done as you suggested and set all the internal values the way I reckon they work best. The only one I am unsure about is the RSI Lookback candles. I take it that the angle is measured over the past 3 candles - going from <45 to >55, or vice versa?

Mate, the girls love the idea of me having a programme with a duck that quacks when everything is lined up. :lol: They are having a great time looking for a sound-file of ducks quacking that I can substitute for the standard alert.wav :roll:

I do have one question though. George, the opportunity to counter-trend trade comes up quite frequently. Is that something you can wire in - or is that something I should talk to Steve about?

That's easy. Put the attached wav file in your <broker-name>\sounds directory (you'll have to unzip it first, the board doesn't allow wav files). The attached script will test it out. :>
