Don't expect to understand stand stuff if you are too lazy to read posts in the thread. This was discussed over the last couple of days and you should already have the answer to your own query.

Do not expect to succeed with anything here by being lazy. You will fail. It looks to me as though your are doomed in forex terms and I recommend you find something different to do.

Hi All,

I have an EA I have been using and was wondering if someone could assist with the code expression for PullBack trades in a trend.

My EA trades breakouts and breakdowns if price moves above the MA high or if price moves below the MA Low of the 21 EMA .

The current code uses this expression for Long trades
If dASK > EMAHigh && Close[1]-Open[1]>0 && Ask>Close[1] - /// ( This statement will ensure the EA initiates trades if the previous candle was Bullish )

and for Shorts

if dBid < EMALow && Open[1]-Close[1]>0 && Bid<Close[1] - //( This statement will ensure the EA initiates trades if the previous candle was Bearish )

But looking back at various charts I noticed something in that if the market is in an Uptrend, there are 2 ways of joining the trend, one could either wait to jump on the bullish trend after a higher high or play it smart and buy on a Pullback.
What I need is the logic of a PULL BACK code, such that
1. if the trade condition is true i.e Price Above the MA , when a new candle forms BUY once the Current Price is Above the Close of the previous Candle
2. If the Price is Below the MA once a new Candle forms SELL once the Current Price is Below the close of the Previous Candle.

i am having trouble getting a new ea to compile, it doesn't seem to even try, no error messages under the error tab, no report of the program being compiled. does something need to be set up or what?

Hi all,

Been lurking for a while and wouldn't be peeking above the parapet without a finished EA for you guys unless I wasn't completely brain-boggled. I'm just going round and round in circles and now I'm wondering whether it would be simpler to start afresh using HGI custom call... Anyway this is a help request, read if you want, don't if you don't want to. I'm not your boss.

The idea: Using HGI (Trend Up arrow and Trend Down arrow) signals in conjunction with several instances of a colour-changing moving average. Once these signals agree, within a specified range of candles, the open long/short is triggered. That's not a great description so I've attached an image - the vertical lines represent where I would see this EA entering. You'll notice the fourth line is miles away from the last HGI Buy/Up arrow signal (please see problem 2).

The problems:
1)Firstly, I keep getting an order send error using the attached .set (4051 - invalid function parameter function - any ideas?
2) Does any code magician out there think there's any way to use the fastest MA period as a close/re-entry trigger?
3) Is there a way this could be totally stripped down? If the system is only using the Main HGI buy/sell trend arrow signals and several instances of the Ma in colour indicator, is there a much simpler way to write this EA?


Why am I here trying to scrounge free help and not looking for a freelancer? I've been having bits of work done, trying to build this system after realizing I'm woefully hopeless coding in mql4 (I am learning though) and can no longer justify shelling out £ all over the place. My original plan was to have the EA completed then drop it here somewhere (if it's useful to anyone or not) as a thank you for... well for this forum in general. I thought here may be the best bet to find someone already familiar with integrating HGI signals with other indicators and it's a keen minded bunch in here so any suggestions would be great too.

The people here who could code this for you, most of us at the drop of a hat, have moved on from the time where we would code anything for any member with a vague request.

You have to prove it is worth our attention these days. Show some profitable manual trading and we might take an interest.

Thank you to all the brains on this forum. The attitude of wanting to help others to succeed in forex trading is a very noble one. That being said, I have three items requiring attention.

1. Is dottybot able to function on FXOpen brokerage ecn demo platform?

2. I have read and re-read the pdf document pertaining to the dottybot,"Dotty-Bot Steve%27s live trading version." I cannot for the life of me get the system to trigger using Steve's 5 min setfile. The smiley face is OK, the alerts are working but no trades are instituted. I have not changed any settings so it should work.

3. I am going to try to attach a copy of an alert that appears when the indicators etc.are placed in the data folder under the correct sub-folders. I am using the latest HGI Indicator, version, HGI_v17.00.ex4. I could not find the version referred to in the alert.

Please advise me as to how to solve my dilemma before consigning me to the trash bin. No matter what happens I will continue to go into stealth mode when the above has received attention. This forum is and will always be the best forum on the net regardless of the sometimes painful replies I have seen to queries by budding traders wanting to learn from the masters.
I remain an avid fan of SHF. Graham Chapman.

you have to change the name in the EA to the HGI version you use...
