Hi all. I have been reporting on the how well TJF 200SL setfile is going with GBPJPY and EURUSD over on the HGB Candle Power thread. http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 90#p158442 I have now recreated TJF setfile to run on 'HGB CP multi-pair' with all 22 pairs (TJF, if you have time to double check I have the settings correct I would be most appreciative) From my CP experience, each pair will have a draw-down of around $100-200 dollars so this setup is likely to run a constant DD of at least 22 X $200= $4400 (DON"T RUN ON A LIVE ACCOUNT). Therefore my demo account has a starting capital of $100,000 so it does not crash and burn I am just interested in which pairs perform best in the long-run. :youknow: Will keep you posted Cheers Richard |

Hi Leon, would you mind sharing your H4 set file? I created one for v1l but am not having much success. I loaded your Daily Strict and made changes from there. Maybe a version change caused an issue. I have v1i, v1j and v1l saved and have my H4 on v1l. thanks db |

Hi Db, Caution to the wind, the 4 t/frame has not worked for me either. I have ceased all trading, for now. As much as I would like my trend trading strats to work, it does not work all the time. This is why I like SHF. You have trend as well as contrarian strats. I am at a learning curve with counter trend strats and must say that the likes of Steve, TJF and recently Gertje and many more have openend my eyes to the possibilities here, so I am a learner when it comes to this. It is very interesting to see how the naked traders come alive when ranging occurs and of course how the trend traders sprout when things go their way Interesting facts for me is that we are at the 20th of the month in which reversals occur and of course for me tomorrow is reversal thursday and crumbs of course December trading in thin markets with which many things can happen??. I can cite EURUSD for example which has bounced off my yearly resistance 2 at 1.20574 ish. Do we end the Year candle on a full body? Means EURUSD very bullish or do we hve a massive drop in days to come to spell trouble for the bulls?. Off course double tops very possible. In these days up to year end many possibilities and I will scout daily. Db, I would much rather go back to the drawing board before I post a set that has not worked. Hope you understand, Festive greetings to all. Cheers Leon |

I understand and totally agree....so many great tools and knowledge from so many good people here at SHF....fun to keep up the search for the elusive "always low DD" set. Thx for quick reply. |

I cannot speak for the entirely naked traders but I can speak for anyone trading their knowledge gained from DFC or using my DFC-inspired Peak HiLo indi: the market is always ranging. Within the range, other time frames might be described as 'trending' but even those are ranging within their own time frames. Smaller time frames will complete one cycle then embark on another that will expand if ti is part of a higher time frame cycle. So, a completed long cycle on the M5 will trigger a sell which will go into DD if the M15 is itself in the process of completing a long cycle. This process expands constantly but the lower time frames always have the opportunity to complete their opposite-direction cycles. It might take a while, which is why DFC traders are patient beings; we understand this. Cycles within cycles within cycles etc. This does nothing to invalidate HGI or SS for example; they are merely different ways of looking at how to gain entry into a market for a short-term gain and I am working my butt off these days to take advantage of them. Each individual, arbitrary, time frame is on a journey to complete a cycle. The next arbitrary time frame up will not be able to complete its own cycle until the lower time frame has done so and then broken out of the range to create a new hilo of its own cycle - which may in turn range around for a while. It is this cycle within cycle that POS attempts to take advantage of. Fact is though that us DFC graduates understand this salient point: a massive trend on one time frame is merely a part of a range on a higger time frame. Expand this out from the M1 to the M5 to the M15 to the M30 to the H1 to the H4 to the D1 to the W1 to the MN1. Then to the non-existant (for us) Year1, then Decade1 etc The only real difference between trading the different time frames is the depth of our pockets and emotional response to DD. Tiny account and the attention span of a newt: trade sub H1. Gazillions to spare and infinite patience: try the MN1 |

She is trying to plot her own course. How well she succeeds depends on how well she hops on the back of the latest cycle completion. Here's a H4 set that shows promise but trades best in an interesting way. The below results are for the 2 wks beginning 12/11 thru 12/22 trading Tuesdays thru Fridays. I actually traded a week before but these results are after I decided to use a specific time range. I used the 09:30 (GPand TW server time) starting point of Leons strict set to start EA before London. I noticed that the $25 basket or global targets were each night reached, then I noticed that if CP was allowed to run past 15:00 and into the London US overlap, that almost without fail the DD increased and profits lost or I had to sit on my hands hoping for a rebound, so I started stopping CP after 1 or 2 targets reached during London session and no longer ran CP into session overlap....that is why the DD spike at end, I should have stopped at 14:00 and didn't. I think these results are pretty good since leading up to holidays. Also this could be of interest to anyone wanting a more manual approach for a set period of time. I will pick up testing next week and start with Monday thru Friday. Improvements or ideas always welcome. Running on v1l. cheers db Edit: DD eventually creeped in as usual...news can give pretty hard hit....manual SL after entry and pulling pairs before big news prob help... |

Dear all, I had to abandon my test as the setfile I posted generated a 148 error when the maximum trades for my demo account was reached (ICMarkets sets a limit of 200 max trades). I have therefore split the 22 pairs in half and running 11pairs on two separate Empty4 accounts. Hopefully these setups will remain below 200 open trades Cheers Richard |

V 1m is in post 1. I have the bot running on demo again and noticed lots of messages saying, "Candle Power has hit its whole position basket take profit. All trades should have closed." but not actually closing them. The fault is fixed in 1m. Classy people, go to void CloseAllTradesBelongingToEA() (line 3797 in my code) do a search for this: "if (OrdersTotal() == 0 || OpenTrades == 0)". It is just a few lines down. OpenTrades is not an array and applies only to a single data set, being calculated for each pair as the code iterates around the trading loop. It was always 0 and so the function aborts. You will see this code block: Code: Select all Code: Select all |
