Excellent explanation Bruster,
That means the very end of the MA's will wiggle over the course of the day as the D1 sto7 moves around
Smilee, to be honest if you are going to worry about the detail techs you will start doubting yourself and the system. I usually change my timeframes anyway before I open a trade. If I get a signal on the hourly timeframe I usually go to the 4 hour time frame to check the 34 Ma blue and magenta lines, anyway and that updates (refreshes) my chart.

There is one thing I have learn't from naked traders is that they always look at moves in 3's or 4's the 4th usually being the stophunt. So we look at 3 levels, stophunt and the move. I cannot replicate exactly what they are doing but I can try and get pretty close to it with indicators.

If my daily green stochs go into oversold or over bought conditions above the 20 or 80 line I can start looking for a retrace or a reversal. If you look at the green stochs line it usually moves up in 3's, 4's, 5's, 6's and so forth so if you see four moves up or down on the daily green stochs it will be over a 4 day period, there eventually will be a breaking point where there will be a retrace or a swing reversal. This is the move I try and catch. I look at this as a time based system instead of taking every Hgi signal out there. There is no need to be in a rush trading this system. I patiently await signals that go in my direction.

Cheers
Leon

What are the exit rules, except MA's or Stoc opposite cross?
I find these crosses lagging for exit.

smilee99,

Although this is not my thread, I feel it wise to warn you that most of your post point to two things: the first being you have not read (or understood) the HGI thread and how it works, secondly it would also seem that you have no idea how or why an indicator works the way it does. Hint: It calculates DATA!

I suggest that before you get even more confused that you go back and read the HGI thread and the HGI for beginners thread. If you still have questions, post them in the beginners thread. If you think I am being too harsh, just ignore what I say and continue, then you will see what a certain other person has in store for you.

1. I accept your warning, I edit my previous posts.
2. I understand very well how indicator works and how HGI works as I did read its relevant thread.

However, my concerns are when/how can I rely on HGI or MA's cross signal.
In other words, what are the maximum bars I need to look back so I can be assure the signal is going to stay for good?

If you understand how the indicator works, you would realize that you can guarantee NOTHING and that is the same with any indicator. HGI gives you the best signal to trade NOW, nothing more.

Your mystery has been questioned and answered many times before. See here

Retireme has hit it on the nail. We are trading an edge and that is it. We are trading in the here and now. I get and Hgi trend signal and I take the trade if my conditions are met. No trade will guarantee a 100% outcome. It is the amount of times that I do get it right as apposed to getting it wrong that has made it profitable for me. There is no 100% guarantee anywhere in forex. If I had it I probably would not hang around SHF. :)

If for whatever reason price moves against my Hgi signal I can choose to close the trade or set a stoploss and I have mentioned this before in the thread.

For those who have followed Hgi. The trend arrow signal is given and will stay on your chart if price moves against your signal. If you change your chart to another timeframe and come back to the same chart the Hgi arrow will disappear. No indicator can guarantee success, moves will go against it. Steve has come down hard on traders who have not understood this. Smilee, I think Retireme is being kind in saying that you must go back and read the basics because you clearly missed what I have said above. I hope it is the last time we talk about this.

Anyway back to trading.

Cheers
