What do you think about this?
/me nods furiously.

This would be fantastic, NT

I guess that makes sense. (avg of all XXX TMAs) - (avg of all YYY TMAs) ends up being very close to the TMA of XXXYYY. The whole CSS idea was to extract out the behavior of the individual currencies, but if you combine two of them, it should be pretty close to the corresponding pair. I thought the CSS combination would be a "cleaner" signal, but maybe not.

Look at the TMA plot on that chart you posted. Go long when TMA is heading up, go short when it's heading down, and you'd do pretty well with just that. Especially if you apply a bit of careful filtering so you only reverse when the market starts to confirm the move. Would be very interesting to test that with a bunch of pairs and see how the portfolio behaved.

Which of the 4 TMA Plots are you referring to? ;) M30, H1 (Green/current TF), H4 or D1 ?

How is your backtester going .... did you make any progress on that front?

I'm looking at the green TMA plot in your recent post: http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 649#p17649

Sorry, no. No progress on the backtester yet. Life keeps happening. I spend more time than I should, just trying to keep up with the developments here.

And you are referring to the angle when you say up or down...correct?

Um, I guess so. If the green TMA value is increasing, that means the angle is heading up, and vice versa. It's not perfect because there are places where it jitters up/down for a little, which was why I said it might benefit from making sure the market was heading that direction.

If I get a chance to rub two neurons together on it, I'll bring you in on any ideas!

Wow Neo. Itching to see what the TMA multi time frame crosses look like for other pairs. Looks great for entrances and exits.

Post subject:  Faking TMA MTF

While waiting for NT's MTF TMA, I found a way to fake it.
faking tma mtf.gif
Check the second window. It has NT's "regular" TMA histogram, but also has dragged over it the CSS indicator, with all but the TMA removed, and with the timeframe set to D1.

Viola! TMA MTF.

BUT the scale of the plots is not the same. You need to keep remembering that, or choose to fix the scale on both indicators, if you like.

Good thinking Omni! I just did the same but added 2 versions of NT TMA-CSS SP on top of each other.

Light blue and light red is daily.
Dark blue and dark red is H1.

This is on a 4h chart both scaled correctly. NT has done an amazing wonder for us getting this scaled properly..

@idempotent and jemook,

WOW...you guys really get creative here...didn't thought of this myself....great idea..

Would be great if you could put you creative ideas also in my thread so the others see them also...

This means we don't need the MTF at all...;)

just kidding... will be out soon...
