Thanks guys.

I started to write, "So where the blue blazes are all the damn pivots? They don't show up on my charts."

Then I thought to scrunch up the chart so much that it became unusable but did at least the pivots showed up, i.e.
pic.gif
Can anyone here explain how this is actually usable? I cannot see how. The degree of scrunching up to make all three pivots viewable was ridiculous. To see where the market is in relation to the daily pivot or 5.1 relied on unscrunching the chart - which took a while, and by the time I had finished I had forgotten where the various pivots were. The damn D1 pivot disappears entirely on the D1 chart.

In a way it doesn't matter, because I can simply knock up an indi that calculates the three privots and displays them on the chart in prices. Trouble is, I am going to use all this to code an EA and I know from experience what happens when my x (x can = anything, in this case pivots) do not = everybody elses x, so it would be a help to get my x actually displaying something meaningful on my chart.

Or does everyone else have charts as meaningless as mine? If not, can someone take a few seconds to supply something meaningful, please?

Ahhh. I seeeee. Thanks Shelley.

If I load the template onto AUDCAD and scrunch thingies up just a bit, then the three pivots display.

I had the template loaded onto GBPCHF. The pivots are bloody miles away from each other and so are mostly invisible.

So, does it matter? If markets are trending strongly, are the pivots automatically close enough to one another to be viewable? If so, the lack of visibility on the gchf chart is not a problem.

On t'other hand, if we always need to be able to see the damn pivots then their absence on some charts is a problem. In this case, we need an indi that tells us when all three line up. I can knock this up in a couple of minutes but it will not be pretty because it will display the info in a comment. Any indi coders here fancy knocking up a more viewable version that displays the info away from the Comment space that my upcoming EA will want to use? Should take you 5 minutes, tops.

SteveHopwood wrote:Jem, your 'info' template confuses the heck out of me. For whatever reason, there are labels for the monthly pivot and associated sr levels, but bugger-all else. I am left having to use mouse-hover to work out what any of the umpteen other lines are about.
The reason I posted those templates were in case anyone wanted to follow along with what I'm looking at. They are just my way of making sense of things. Every indicator in them is as per 10.2 and 10.2a I have just played around visually to suit my settings.

Wanted to start at Tokio open, but did sleep well.

Let's go.

potential buy pairs:
NZDCHF daily slope 0,97, H4 M1 and daily P triggered
AUDJPY daily slope 0,73, no basket trading pair because daily P below weekly P
NZDJPY daily slope 0,87, no basket trading pair because daily P below weekly P
NZDUSD daily slope 0,85, no basket trading pair because daily P below weekly P
AUDCHF daily slope 0,73, no basket trading pair because daily P below weekly P
AUDUSD daily slope 0,68, no basket trading pair because daily P below weekly P
AUDCAD daily slope 0,69, no basket trading pair because daily P below weekly P

potential sell pairs:
EURNZD daily slope -0,96, H4 M1 and daily P triggered
EURAUD daily slope -0,75, no basket trading pair because daily P above weekly P
GBPNZD daily slope -0,73, no basket trading pair because daily P above weekly P

2 pairs triggered entry, 8 additional pairs with incorrect order (correct order buy: daily P > weekly P > monthly P and reversed sell scenario). Small Basket (2 pairs) started Adaptive TP/ adaptive SL 80 pips (40/pair).
Morning Fok...night for me. ;)

Came up with about the same but my spread on those two pairs is way too high. Where are yours at?

Spread
NZDCHF 5.20
EURNZD 7.10

That I could live with. Believe it or not I have a 20 pip spread on E/N and a 80  on N/F. And yes, that's real pips. On N/F my sell/buy is .7533 and .7613. Just a weird spread on 4 or 5 pairs. But it's a micro account so there are a lot of bene's too.

Much success on your trade. I'll have to wait till morning and see if any of those others have reordered themselves. 8-)

Steve,

Think this is what fxoz is referring to.
I don't see this in the Nanningbob FF thread. Can you reference exactly where the 10.2a mod is located.

I'll tell you where it's located after you put your glasses on and read the opening paragraph and first link of this thread. Are you serious?

Todays basket trades. My charts are always going to look a bit different visually as I like playing around with my template to suit me.. All you have to look for is the blue MA line, the green pivot line and the yellow weekly pivot line AS PER 10.2 + 10.2A.
2012-06-26 04.02.39 pm.png
Here is my basket for today. Remember the pivot order is not set in stone yet. If there are crosses above the daily pivot we can still get some pips. It just means to be careful.

AUDJPY hovering under the daily pivot - If it breaks above I will hold, if it bounces I will think of shutting.

AUDCAD, AUDUSD, NZDUSD crossed above daily pivot, eyes now on the weekly pivot. If breaks above hold, if bounce shut.

NZDJPY is crossing above the daily pivot, eyes on weekly, if it breaks above hold if it bounces back down shut.

NZDCHF, AUDCHF only long pairs in correct pivot order. Eyes on any resistance above.

EURAUD,EURNZD look good still but choppy and boring

GBPNZD broke under the weekly pivot again so hold.

FOR ALL LONG PAIRS:
Watch the currency slope at the bottom of the screen!! notice how on my long pairs the blue is above the red - this is GOOD. If they start to come back towards each other and red goes above blue it's time to shut the trade.

FOR ALL SHORT PAIRS:
Notice how the red line is above the blue line on the currency slope. if the red goes below the blue it's time to watch out and think of shutting the trade.

---
Final notes. This seems like a last attempt to get back in on these pairs. My gut tells me that it might reverse todays gains with London open. So I'll shut this as soon as I see it going against me.
All times are UTC Page 9 of 112
